very sharp pains low

I'm having some really sharp pains very low in my abdomen, almost like in my cervix. I don't remember this with Mia, does anyone know what this could be??

probably your pelvis getting ready; the ligaments are going to be more tender this time around...i have a feeling you may be meeting daughter #2 soon. cervical pain can either be the baby poking at your cervix or dilation.

Yeah the pains are where I would imagine my cervix is... I guess every pregnancy/labor is different, I never had this with Mia. I really hope you are right Shi, we are so ready to meet her!!!

my babies poked the hell out of my cervix; the good news is that it means she's head down and probably lower in your uterus.

I remember feeling this too with our second. It was like that all day (I was at work) then, I went to the bathroom before going home and my water broke right then (I was 3 days past due)! You are so very close, hang in there

God, at 39 weeks and 3 days I would hope she is head down and low. But apparently they didn't signal anything was starting as I had hoped. I know, I know, she will come when she is ready... blah blah blah. Doesn't help the fact that I am burning through my maternity leave with no baby

between the mucus you mentioned the other day and the sharp pains, it sounds like you're probably dilating more. hang in there! labor could start at any moment. i went weeks with a lot of contractions and 4 cm dilated. the day my contractions actually settled down, my water broke and devon was born 4 hours later.

It's so crazy how different labor can go, even with the same mom. I am hoping not to deal with the days of early labor this time. naively I thought I would start early labor, and deliver within the same time frame I did with Mia. Silly girl!

You might want to check, but in CA, you still get your 6-8 weeks PP (6 for vag and 8 for CS) even if baby is late. A friend of mine was 2 weeks late with her son and she basically had a month off before he was born and then another 8 weeks after because she ended up needing a CS. Anyway, I am still sending labor vibes your way.

Almost as irritating as still being pregnant is the same people calling and texting me EVERY SINGLE DAY to ask if I am in labor, showing any signs, feeling OK etc... I know it's just cuz they care, but it's getting annoying. I just want to say to them "I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN SOMETHING HAPPENS!!!" JEEZ.

I know how you feel, I'm at the point where I just wish someone would try to talk to me about ANYTHING other than the pregnancy for once!

I had my appt and I'm 2cm. She asked if I wanted to schedule induction, but I declined. I have an appt. tuesday and she said I can decide then if I want to schedule an induction for late next week or the following week. She said she doesn't think I will need to though. She also said that I have a lower chance of induction causing a c section since I have already had a vaginal uninduced delivery. We'll see.

Fingers crossed that it happens this weekend for you, Liz! I am so happy for you, I remember when you were struggling to get pregnant the first time and it is amazing that you will have 2 in just a few days!

2cm dilated, doc offered induction next week if I want it. I don't want to do that but I also don't want to keep burning up my FMLA time with baby Let's hope something happens, please.
