Papaya, mango, avocado, banana, peas, green beans...off the top of my head. I'll post more if I can think of them.

My son hated the avocado! I got his reaction on film. Is hysterical.

Beyond what was already mentioned, I used to make a apple/carrot mix. So maybe your little one will have some apple if mixed with the carrot.

Peaches (can't believe I forgot that one!)...do you happen to have the mesh feeders? Something like this:

I would give my son frozen peaches in these things, GREAT for teething Frozen grapes would be good, too (seedless, of course LOL). If he likes the cantaloupe you could freeze that and put it in, too, or just fresh from the melon).
Cherries...cherries and blueberries mixed together once you try each of them (if you're introducing new foods separately).
If you don't have the mesh feeders, and you want them and are willing to wait a bit, let me know, I have two of them I'll send you

Blueberries are great. You can mix them with apples too. Just a word of warning about blueberries...the poop can turn black...... But he is properbly not eating enough yet to do that...

^ Ugh, yeah. My daughter's been eating a lot of them lately, and the diaper changes are *not* fun! The little seeds stick to her tushie

We did pears and strained peas too. Also butternut squash was great after baking, you can puree it. Have you guys been told by your pediatricians not to do homemade carrot baby food because of nitrate content? Apparenty baby food companies will test their carrots, but you have no way of knowing when you buy fresh carrots. I think it doesn't matter if they are organic because it has to do with water and soil that the veggies were grown in. Just thought I would throw that out there.

american academy of pediatrics says veggies that contain nitrates (green beans, carrots, squash, spinach and beets) are fine for babies who are older than 3 months. however, they don't even recommend starting solids until 4-6 months anyway. nitrate poisoning is rare, and it mostly occurs in babies who are fed formula that has been mixed with well water.

I cooked a lot of carrots when my DD was around 7 months old too and her doctor did not say to stop and she was/is fine. As Cat posted earlier it is very rare. Good luck .

Baby Food

Have you been experimenting with making your own baby food now? My son is almost 7 months old and I have been making his baby food for 2 months now. I use the website: wholesomefoods.com.

I wanted to chime in about the carrots. What is best to do is buy organic carrots and steam them - don't let the carrots touch the water and do not use the water to make the puree because all the nitrates drop into the water.
