Ovulation Predictor Test Kits Advice please!

Okay, as some of you know, my partner and I have been trying for about 5 months now with nothing.

I've been tracking my periods in a calender and have kinda worked out my cycle length (it changes by a day or two here or there) and we have been working off said calendar's predicted ovulation days with still nothing. I know I ovulated last month too because I got pain

Anyway, if we don't fall this month, I really want to try using some ovulation predictor strips. My specialist (I have endometriosis so I see a specialist about this stuff) told me it's a good idea as people don't always ovulate on the predicted day.

Did any of you use these and how did you go with it?

I'm getting tired of the disappointment and sadness that comes with the monthly visitor.

Thanks for any advice in advance!

Hi Carly,

Yep, I've used them. There are a few different kinds though. There is a digital one (expensive) that will tell you your actual level of fertility (low, medium, high), which is ideal.

ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor Kit

The cheaper ones only tell you your 1-2 peak fertile days and they can be difficult to interpret.

Ovulation Tests (Test Strip Format)
Ovulation Midstream Tests

I have a saliva microscope that is easier to use and easier to read which does the same thing as far as telling you when you're most fertile. It was only $25 too.

Fertility Scope Ovulation Predictor

Good luck!!! I hope it will happen for both of us soon!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought them on ebay. You can buy them in bulk and they work. When we were undergoing fertility treatment (I have PCOS) my doctor gave me some generics and they work.

My hubby and I tried for a little less than a year. I tried them... bought some at a store and then on ebay because they were so expensive. None worked for me. Told me I was never ovulating. Or i wasn't reading/doing them right.

Have you read....Taking Charge of Your Fertility?
Amazon.com: Taking Charge of Your Fertility, 10th Anniversary Edition: The Definitive Guide to Natural Birth Control, Pregnancy Achievement, and Reproductive Health (9780060881900): Toni Weschler: Books

I bought this book and read it. I actually never really got to try it, bc that month I got preggo LOL, but it was recommended to me and it has some really good points. More than just calculating your periods... but other body stuff. My ob's office also recommends it.

I have that book. PM me and I will send it to you for free.

I can't say if the book works or not. I didn't really follow it....

I have a friend who had been trying for almost a year and was using the non-digital OPK's, then the next month she shelled out the cash to buy the digital ones and she got pregnant that month. It turned out that in that particular month she didn't ovulate until like the 22nd day.

I have used both and I hated the non-digital ones because I could never tell if the line was dark enough. The digital ones are easy because it's a circle if you are not ovulating and a smiley face if you are. They are expensive though, I think I was paying like $30 for a box of 7.

Thanks Sheri! Thats good to know.

I've ordered some generic ones off ebay, we will see how they go for a month. If no good, I'll consider the digital ones.

I'm so happy for you!!
