Milk odor...

My milk has smelled a bit like vinegar the last 24 hours or so, and in turn, Connor is smelling a little funny

Any ideas what this could be? Anybody else ever experience anything like this? I haven't eaten anything different or odd

Hmmm that was what I was wondering...what have you been eating. Have you been drinking lots of water? Did it JUST start smelling that way?

Ok, I thought this was in GD, not the Pregnancy thread.

I was totally thinking...uh, the milk is spoiled, just get some more.

Leaving now.

You could possibly have a high amount of lipase in your breast milk. Lipase is an enzyme that breaks down fat. This is pretty common and is not harmful to the baby but it could alter the smell of your milk.

I noticed this when I was in the hospital, but it went away as soon as I was home. I thought that it was strange, but it went away so I blew it off. Now that its back...it making me go "hmmm ... "

I haven't been drinking "lots" of water, but I have been drinking "enough" water
