New Chanel I got :D

Yeah I just got this Chanel Bag off from someone. I got it brand new and still is. It came with the authencity card and the card appeared good to the authentic one. The Numbers on the card matched the one inside the bag. I bought it for not much and she paid alot for it but she didnt like the color her "daddy" bought. So what do you guys think about it? Its not like an OMG bag but I think its still cute. I got alot of compliments on it too. Also does It look authentic?

Hmmmmm. I hate to be a skeptic too but $25 for a chanel anything would make me second guess the authenticity for sure.

Okay I added alot more pictures. Sorry If some you cant see really good. I have been having problems with my cameras flash being so bright.

The c c on the hologram sticker - aren't those usually above the numbers? is it one piece or is it cross scored?

and the plastic laminated card - I don't think that's correct.

I didn't look at the bag pics after seeing the card/hologram pics, btw -any numbers that begin with 6 would be from 2001.(if it were real)

Yes the CC on the hologram stick in the bag are above the numbers. The picture was took accidently upside down.

The card was fine I just put a plastic cover sheet over it to protect it. It didnt actually come out that way.

The number inside the bag matched the authenticy card
Number is 6669301

Hmm...i have a few Chanels from the boutique.i know the numbers match but cards are easy to make..doesnt look good to me. besides for $25 is really *!?* i dont think anyone in their right mind would sell an authentic for that..:/

Okay well I went to a chanel boutique near where I live and talked to a rep. about it. The women checked it out and said it was real and that It was just made a couple years ago. I have no idea why she would want to sell it to me for that much but also I have traded her for other things so i have no idea. Its her loss and my gain

If you do EVER consider selling it, here or on eBay, it would be a good idea to get something in writing from that Chanel Boutique stating that it is authentic. I agree that it is very suspect that the bag was sold for $25.

Yeah I know what you mean! I still have no idea why the hell she was selling it for that cheap. When she first had it up in her selling thingy it was like 200 but no one bought it and she got sick having it up for so long so yeah she just said have it and I took it.

I would also go to the purse forum in the Chanel subforum there's an "Authenticate This" thread.
I've seen that fabric before. It's from the Travel Ligne, which wasn't really a pricey line to begin with and it's a pretty old bag, judging from the number on the card...I'm guessing the 80s.

The hologram is too blurry for me to tell much of anything, but I actually think that the card looks good in terms of the font used for the numbers.
It's not laminated, but it's in a plastic casing, right?
I had a card come that way recently.
The font on the interior tag looks fine to me as well.

If that bag is indeed from the 1908's

it should show some wear. I think its a knockoff as well.

I just found of that the bag is like 5 years old and It was kept really good because theres like no signs of wear.

Yeah I kinda put that plastic over the card myself for some dumb reason.

I like the bag. Yeah its deffently not the best of chanel bags but for 20 bucks who cares.

Yess thanks so much for telling me its from the travel line!

I found a bag similar but a tote and the pictures the seller took for the bag match mine.

btw I have been researching the "Travel Line" now for a couple of hours. Apparently I have found that is from the late 90's to early 2000's. Found that " A sticker with a serial number will be found on all authentic Chanel bags. Chanel bags manufactured before 2005 will have a 7-digit serial number. For bags manufactured after 2005, the serial number is 8 digits. The 7-digit or 8-digit serial number on the sticker must match the serial number on the authenticity card. "

even though that purse isnt new from 2007, i think its gorgeous!!! and people do sell there things for cheap, even if the things are authentic and designer, if they can afford to, then why not? i just bought a pair of LV flats new for 60$ and an LV tank for 30, all authenticated as well! so congrats to you

I posted your pictures on TPF and the only thing that raised a red flag was the card being wrapped in plastic, but I noted that you did that yourself.
Other than that one detail though, there didn't seem to be anything else from the other pictures that was screaming "fake" as far as the other markings and the authenticity card, at least not that was noted by the girls there who seem to know their stuff more than I would.

I've heard of crazy bargains like this, even on Chanel.
I believe that one girl on TPF found an amazing pink flap at The Salvation Army, of all places. For something like $50.
It was absolutely real too, so it certainly is possible that you found a bargain.

But again, without a clear picture of the interior hologram there's no verdict being made either way, so I would try and take a picture of that using the macro setting on your camera and turning off the flash.
