| | | I'm no expert, but material looks waaay to shiny in those pics. And by a dust bag, do you mean it came in a plastic/poly bag?
I would think comparing it against the one you already have would give you a good idea of whether or not it is fake.
EDIT: Oh, and BTW if you wear a S/XS in women's, you can try on a girl's L or XL and see if they fit. I remember reading somewhere that they are one in the same. I think the girl's ones are only ~$80 at REI, versus $160 for the womens.

| | | I'm not totally sure since it's womens...but if they're anything like men's, I'd say fake.
Pretty sure the tags are supposed to be connected to the left pocket, not the middle zipper. Also, the arm opening looks a off, can't pinpoint exactly why...but it looks funny.
Oh, actually, the jackets CAN come in a bag. When they're sent to the retail stores, they come packaged inside a plastic bag inside a bigger cardboard box. I know because I got a Denali at the retail store and the SA had to go in the back and grab a new box for my size. |

| | I work at REI. We're seeing TONS of fake TNF, especially the Denali right now. I am not very good at authenticating without seeing the item in person, as the best way to identify a fake denali is to feel the fleece. The fleece on a fake feels thinner and, well, inferior.
What I can tell you is that the logo on the jacket in the picture in that auction looks wrong to me. The font doesn't look right.
Check the snaps on the sleeves; real denali jackets have a plastic snap. I believe TNF is currently manufacturing in China. Check the tags. Many fakes will have typos on the tags.
Also, the hang tags on the fakes we've been seeing are flimsier than the ones TNF usually puts on their product. In addition (at risk of sounding like Heidi; 'models, this is also a competition for you as well...'), the tags on the fakes are really shiny.
I hope this helps.

**edited to add: I compared the logo specifically to the one on the denali on the TNF website. Here's a link: The North Face - Gear - Women's -> Jackets & Vests -> Fleece and Softshells / W Denali Jacket
They look really different to me. The font on the 'fake' is really rounded, while the one on the true jacket, the letters are sharper. Also, the logo is wider, and the one on the auction link seems 'squished' together, to me. Anyone else see the difference?

| | | We haven't seen many softshell fakes this season. That's not to say they aren't out there. The Apex Bionic is a nice jacket, but in my opinion, Mountain Hardwear makes much better jackets, especially the softshells. MH is better quality overall. If you're looking for the name/style, and not really worried too much about the functionality, TNF jackets tend to be cuter. :-)
