CHRISTIAN AUDIGIER AUTHENTICITY GUIDE! Ed Hardy SMET T-Shirts Caps

This is the Christian Audigier Authenticity Guide!

Who the hell is Christian Audigier anyways?

Well you probably have seen or owned something designed by him. He worked with Von Dutch for 3 years making them famous. Also worked with fashion companies like Diesel, Guess, American Outfitters, Bisou Bisou, Levis and more.

He was granted the exclusive rights to Ed Hardy. Than he started his own line Christian Audigier. His most recent line SMET is also taking the fashion industry by storm!

Due to the popularity of his lines fakes are becoming common in the marketplace.

The key to IDing authentic pieces in my opinion is all in the design and artwork of the item.

Lets take a look:

Notice how the real graphics are defined. They are not blocky or thick. The colors are not quite right on the fake either. The "Christian Audigier" logo on the front of the shirt is not the right color. Also the logo on the real shirt is decorated with "caviar". The fake shirt just has a printed logo. There are to many CA logos on the fake shirt and they are printed with too much ink. Same with the panther on the back of the shirt too much ink.

Another good indicator that cannot be seen in the photos is the flocking. Flocking is a felt like material that is used on many of the shirts. It gives the graphic and almost 3D look. The fake shirt looks like it is just a print w/ no flocking at all. Plus there should be rhinestone studs on the real shirt. The fake shirt doesn't look like it has any.

Many of these errors are due to crappy printing used by fakers to cut costs.

Lets look at some more shirts...

Love Grenade

Seriously this is a joke right???

That shirt is so ugly! It cannot even compare to the real one. The graphic is blocky. There is no foil on the graphic. On top of that the Love Grenade design was never made in that color of shirt!

Lets take a look at the tags from these 2 shirts:

Yeah so nice job there fakers! Can't even get the right tag on the shirt. Most of the t-shirts have the printed rectangle tag. There are some other tags but we will look at those in a second.

See the difference? The fake just can't compare to the real one. The tags and hang tags are wrong once again.

Here are some more real tags:

This tag doesn't have the CA logo printed around it.

This printed tag is from some logo sleeve shirts:

This tag is mostly found on newer items with embroidery that prevents the use of the printed tag. If you compare it to the fake tags above you can see that the print is not the same. This tag should be a cream color and satin.

TAGS WILL BE ADDED LATER AFTER I CHECK SOMETHING AT CA STORE.
