| | | Worst Denim Brand Ever??!! I think it'll be fun if we start a thread about the worst denim brand that is out there in the market right now and the experiences we have with those brands.
As you all know, the market for premium jean is so saturated that there's a new brand coming out every month. Some of them are really good but most are just plain horrible. And probably will not survive in this competitive market.
So far, only the best has survived. In my opinion, the three premium denim elite: 7 For All Mankind, True Religion and Rock & Republic are doing very well and really can't be touch when it comes to designs, cut, and washes. The three company has the majority of the market.
Anyway, I would love to see some brands gone for good. So here's my top 3:
1. Laguna Beach
2. Mek Denim
3. G-Star
Honorary pick: Ed Hardy and Christian Audigier Denim
And finally, what's yours? |

I think MEK Denim is just an ugly clone of True Religion. Their designs and materials are very similar and honestly MEK Denim is not unique in anyway. It looks and feel like True Religion, only just more inferior.
Oh and yes, Laguna Beach is also an even uglier clone of True Religion as well. |

| | | I think that having a thread like this is just going to start problems because everyone has their opinion and we all like and dislike different things, hell I'm wearing a pair of silvers right now and I know that these would be on the 'list' eventually.

Fully respected. No need to be bashing on each other.
I completely forgot about the sensitivity of members here. My apologies. But once again, these are just my opinions. Don't hate me!!! |

| | Ed Hardy and CA denim get the number 1 spot on my list.
Awful, awful, awful. Laguna Beach's don't bother me as much, I'd never wear it though. Mek...is "meh". Nothing special about it that singles it out from the crowd. G-stars tend to be pretty awful.
Some of the new Affliction stuff is gawd-awful. I still <3 a few of their designs, but stuff like this triggers my gag reflex:
And ones like this: NEW Affliction Premium CROSS DENIM Pocket Sz 36 X 34 - eBay (item 230382946520 end time Oct-06-09 19:00:58 PDT)
Yicckkk.

Do you guys know what happened to that brand? It used to be very popular but now it sort of disappeared. Did the company went bankrupt or something.
I never like the brand but I know a lot of people did because of the Western influence design. Or cowboy chic as some would call it. |

| | ^ I saw a pair of Antik on ebay last week that I thought about getting. I just kind of want to try it to branch out a bit.
I super don't like:
Laguna Beach/Affliction/Ed Hardy stuff. Just all IMO |

Lady Gaga has a freaking hot body. That's a nice ass! I'm not sure I'd keep mine covered if it looked like that, honestly. But the rest of that outfit... I don't even know how to explain it. |

| | | MEK is actually one of my favorite. I own 3 pairs and I love them all. My favorite is Oaxaca.
I don't think there is a particular brand that I hate... but I definitely don't like to see guys wearing any carpenter jean shorts, and girls usually look bad in high rise flared jeans.

And finally, what's yours? | If you're referring to the US Market in denim, im pretty sure WalMart brand wins. As for premium denim, 7FAM, TRs, and R&Rs are prob up there. However worldwide, these brands are unheard of, and I would say Diesel takes the cake.
To be honest, I would love to see 7FAM just go away. Everyone and their mother has a pair; while I applaud their genius marketing and operations management, I hate 7FAM.
My 2 cents.

| | I like MEK jeans as well. I keep looking for some to pop up on ebay in my size, I wouldn't pay retail though.
Worst IMO: CA and Ed hardy, especially the ones with the brand name scripted across the full butt! EWWW!
As, much as I love Diesel some of the old washes take the cake for FUGLIEST award.

It is sort of funny that Ed Hardy has become such a huge phenomenon in the fashion industry even though their stuff is so hideous. I mean would you wear this? |

| | ^ agreed, only because of the actual brand name branding on the CA and EH stuff. some Evisu's are pretty horrible too, though.
I like the affliction designs that are simultaneously loud, but subtle. Like this:
Probably a bit overboard for a lotta people, but I like 'em cause if you match them with a black shirt, the skulls don't really stick out all that much. Noticable, but not like "OMFG I'VE GOT FLUORESCENT RHINESTONES ON MY TUSH LOLZ".
Or my beloved dragon jeans:
I like this kinda stuff because it stands out from the normal 5 pocket blue jean crowd...I mean, there's a LOT of people just doing the "same old, same old" out there.
Thus why Laguna Beach doesn't bother me so much. It's the stuff that contains excessive branding that bothers me. This is because the huge amount of branding is not there for not the purpose of making the clothes look good, it's for the sake of promoting the product. And I'm not gonna pay 100+ dollars for a pair of jeans just so I can be somebody's billboard .
