| | | Help me find my first LV I just got a nice inheritance and am looking for my first LV. I am partial to the Speedy 25. Is anyone here selling one or know of some good deaks on ebay? They are way more expensive retail in Canada! Is there a different bag that you would suggest as a first? |

| | | The mono speedy seems to be one of the most popular choice for for LV bag. The speedy 25 is $660 CAD and $565US, so I guess the difference is mainly the taxes here in Canada. I said this many times, speedies in good condition on Ebay go for way too close to detail not to buy new. Are you a handbag person or shoulder bag? There are many different choices. Would this bag for weekend? Work? I would strongly suggest trying different styles at the store before you buy. Some bags look great in pics but they can look different when you're carrying it. |

| | | It would be an everyday bag. I just checked some of the ones you have listed in the authentic ebay sellers list. One of them has 2 speedy 25s in the $300 range. Maybe I will take a trip down to Holt and check it out. Do you know if they carry them there? Is the speedy 30 better? |

| | | I just got the popincourt haut and I use it as my everyday bag. Not too big but enough room for everything and comfortable. |

| | | Where in Canada are you from? There is LV counter at some Holt's but not all. I am pretty sure each LV store has stock of mono speedy. If you like handbag, speedy is a great choice, do keep in mind the bag can sag. We have 4 speedies in my family. I have damier and epi, both my mom and my SIL have mono ones....lol |

| | | Honestly I feel that a speedy is really popular. It's a very classy bag but it really depends on what you want to have. Most speedys will start to sag. If that doesn't bother you then I say go for it. I've had so many bags and I have yet to buy a speedy. Well.. other than the mini speedy but they're both on two different levels. If you're looking for an everyday bag that's easy to carry and at the same time, holds a lot. I really recommend the Cabas Piano. Angelina Jolie loves her and it looks beautiful on everyone that uses it. Just a suggestion since you're going to check out the bags. |

| | I was going to suggest cabas Piano as a shoulder bag as well but you need to be careful with the bag because of the vachetta bottom. Here is a modeling pic of my piano: |

| | | My first LV was a papillon 26. I'd recommend it for a first bag.
Or, you can get the papincourt haut. That's the next bag that I'll be buying for myself! |

Whichever one I get, it will be used daily. Does anyone have a fav that isn't LV they might want to suggest?
I saw a papillon 26 and showed it to hubby and he wasn't partial to the round style. Can you really fit much into it with that design?
p.s. thanks for everyone's help |

| | | When I got my first..... Hey guys I got my first Louie about 2 years ago directly from 1800vuitton. The sales people were great and I decided on a Speedy 25. Well I never realized after spending 500+ on a purse that it would not have barely any pockets. I love the Louie design but if you think about it a Coach purse actually have a better design, aka more inside pockets. The leather on the Louie is very durable though! I like my Louie much more now that the leather straps have oxidized because before it looked almost like plastic. Just thought I would put my two cents in..... |

| | | Vachetta is the name of the uncoated leather used mostly on monogram bags. It's very light colour when it's new but will darken over time. Since it's so light, it's prone to dirt marks and watermarks. The Piano is bottom is lined with vachetta, that means I would need to be careful where I lay the bag.
There is one zip pocket and a phone pocket inside the Piano, anytime with a tote style, I guess you might have problems looking for things. A lot of LV bags have a D-ring inside, one of the ideas is you can hook a pochette (pouch) inside the bag and keep your valuable in there. Some people choose to use a purseket. I only use one when I use my Noe because there is no inside pocket in my Noe. My sister always says finding things in that bag is like "lucky draw"..lol |

| | | BTW I love the papillon. I have damier papillon and vernis bedford. I even had the mono papillon too but sold it. They are basically the same round shape. My damier papillon is actually my fave. It's my 'comfort' bag. It's very comfortable carrying on the lower arm. |

| | | The Papillon looks nice but the main drawback is that everything falls to the center of the bag due to gravity.
I think the Trouville is cute but it's a handcarry bag. There are pockets inside to easily help you organize everything inside. |

| | | Louis Vuitton Speedy 25 Yes that is soooo true!!! Using my Speedy is basically like a 'lucky draw' because I can never find what I need. I mean don't get me wrong, it does have on little pouch thing but if the purse falls over and it is not zipped everything goes falling out!!! Hehehehe, maybe I will have to try the smaller pouches on the inside to keep personals, great idea..... |

| | | I use a makeup pouch for my lipstick, powder and loose stuff. This way, if my lipgloss leaks, it won't leave stain on the lining (trust me I learned this the hard way..lol). I just put the rest of the stuff in my bag. I was using my speedy 30 today but I put a purseket in there to keep from sagging too much. |

| | | I have a Speedy 30, Medium Looping, Cabas Piano and Babylone. My favorite is the Cabas Piano. I got it after my son was born and used it as a small diaper bag/purse. The MM Looping is beautiful, but the strap doesn't stay on my shoulder very well. The Babylone, I use for work as a briefcase type bag. I have been using LV since I got the Speedy when I was 16 (20 yrs. ago!) It still looks as good as new! I love the Viva-Cite' and Batignolles designs. There are too many to love! The prices of LV will cause cardiac arrest, but when you factor in how much you will use it, it is well worth the money!
