Price increase again---confirmed Nov 1st

Ive been reading around in purseforum and another price increase is on. November 1st. Its the 3rd increase this year. I think the increase is 5% for handbags etc, and 2 or 3% for small leather goods. I think im falling out of love with LV....so i guess im gonna stop for now, Monogram canvas isnt leather after all...Epi is cool, but I already have 2 pieces.

Im gonna save $$$ and buy a classic chanel single flap in caviar leather for $1050 or Balenciaga classique for $995. I'll probably have to save for 3-4 months tho!

yikes another price increase?? the bf read in businessweek or wsj or something that LV is even going to streamline their operations so they can pump bags out faster! i think LV is just getting a little greedy at this point. i'm almost over LV. I just need to find me a decent deal on a baggy GM in fushia in mint condition.

I think that probably has more to do the US exchange rate. In Canada, we haven't had an increase for a while because our dollars are pretty strong these days.

good point asiandiva! I was surprised at how little difference there was between the US$ price of my speedy 35 and Cdn$...but then there is tax in Canada...which can kill ya...

LV is actually pretty "good" at adjusting the prices to reflect the exchange rate. Look at the retail price of most Balenciaga bags in Canada compared to US. I could almost buy a plane ticket and fly to New York and buy the bag for the price we pay here.

that's what I thought too with LV, but was really surprised...is canada going to be affected with the price increase too?!?!

I don't really know. If I drop by downtown before my vacation, I'll check with my SA to see if he has heard anything.

just called 1-866 vuitton to inquire about the Cdn prices for pochette and speedy and aslo asked whether there will be a price increase in Canada and she said she could not confirm for Canada as she they have not been notified and usually are notified 7 business days before a price increase....so I guess Canada is not affected by it!??!?! (hopefully!)

^ Nope, Canada is NOT affected by this increase (at least for now). It was confirmed on Purse Forum. Only US, Australia and I think another one or two countries are affected.

only thing u can hope for is ebates increasing their rebates! its 4% now for eluxury, it was 3% before.

this stinks I wanted to get a new speedy for x-mas, I traded mine with my sis for her papillon , but I miss it so much I was planning on buying another one...so now the speedy 25 will be how much, its currently at $595 right?

i just read at the purseforum that azur is not included in the price increase as well as the mono speedy 25 and 30...i would confirm at your nearest store first though...lots of people are getting different answers....
