Speedy 30 Monogram Bag - Played out??

Hi ladies. I need your honest opinions. Do you all think the Canvas Monogram Speedy 30 is played out? I'm considering getting an LV and the Speedy 30 is my favorite (and within my price range). However, there are tons of people in my city carrying the fake version. Would I just blend in with these people? Will people assume mine is fake too? I consider any LV bag to be a classic, but would you gals carry the Speedy?

I'm in a simillar situation..I still bought it cuz there's just somethingthat feels really good when you know you're carrying a real LV and everyone else around you has a fake...it's like.."who can spot the real one?" hee hee..i play that game all the time..I'm weird.

No, you aren't weird! I'm always looking at the handles of everyone's bag to see if they have darkened.

haha..me too!!! I can't wait for mine to change color...but I'm using it lots and it's gotten dirty a bit..oh well!! that's why I bought it...to use it!!

i was gonna get the 30 also..but decided to get the 35 instead cuz I put a lot of stuff...but then when I fill it up,, it's soo heavy!! hahaha..

How much bigger than the 30 is the 35?

I actually don't like them, and I know if it was me I would assume it was fake. sorry.

that's why I wouldn't buy monogram LV...I almost always assume it's fake (unless the person is very well-dressed).

get a Damier speedy 30...so much less stress and looks more classy imo....its still LV without the "is it fake doubt". You dont have tow worry about water stains or anything that can discolor the handles which will stick there for good.

and the diff btw 30 and 35 is 5 centimeters.

but with that said i put in an inquiry with my fave LV seller "let-trade" and asked if he has anymore monogram speedy 30. hes gonna find some for me and send me pics so i can buy them on ebay. I cant make myself buy a new monogram because im very clumsy and if i spill sth on the vachetta leather I'll be staring with annoyance at it forever. Id rather buy a used one which has already turned an even honey color for 300 sth. I really dont care if ppl think its fake, I know its real and if they cant tell its real then its fine.

Yeah, the Speedy is a tad played out because it is one of Louis Vuittons Classics.Theres nothing like the prestige of carrying an Authentic LV. The New Damier Speedy is really classy though. It Screams Couture.

damier costs the same as mono speedy

Yay! GOOD FOR YOU! post pics with it! if you go to the LV store, ask the SA if she can find u a made in France one instead of a USA. Even tho its technically the same...LV made in France is "nicer".

u should get those Apple Garde or Shining Monkey sprays so you wont have to worry about water/sweat stains etc on ur handles.

I asked the ladies on the purse forum. They said there's really no difference in the quality. It's more about personal preference. Since LV originated in France, some people prefer their bags to be made there.

Some people prefer it but IMO it's all the same. LV is a luxury company and wherever their factory resides, they still have equal quality control in all their factories.

But when you buy a not-so-common bag, don't worry. It'll be made in France =]

I didn't get any spray yet for my bag

i hope mine doesn't get ruined....

haha...MissD is right, after you get your first one, u get addicted..I'm starting to think about my next purchase...might not be a lv bag though, I'm thinking about a coin purse...either a Berlingot, multicolore key pouch, or the mono mini coin purse....but I'm pretty broke and would rather get clothes..

YES, I am addicted already!! I definitely think I need a matching wallet. My next purchase I'd like to get a multicolored one. I like the big bags so I may go with the MC Speedy 30 (I know, another common bag..lol).

I haven't used the spray yet. What are your experiences using the spray? Does it really protect from the stains?

gosh a MC speedy is my dream bag!!!!! I'll probably try to find it on ebay pre-owned, I cannot make myself plonk down $1800 not inc tax for LV. I'd rather spend that on those classic medium size chanel quilted bags! When your poor you gotta diversify! hehe

LOL, MissD. I can completely relate. I will probably an MC Speedy pre-owned too. My husband will never knowingly allow me to buy a purse over $1,000!!! I am still shocked he bought me a Louis Vuitton!
