ok my bf bought me a Speedy 30 Damier. i LOVE the size. LOVE it. but im thinking if returning it for a monogram would be better?

im 24----would speedy damier look a bit too old cuz its all dark brown?

im thinking the monogram somehow looks younger because of the light color vachetta etc.... and i dont have a monogram handbag too---just a mono make up case.

but then again,with monogram i have to be super careful not to get water marks on the vachetta----UGH decision! help pls!

Damier or Monogram?????

and i feel bad if i want to exchange it too----my bf is in shanghai and he put himself on a waiting list for 1 1/2 months just to get the damier cuz it was all sold out when it arrived in the shanghai LV store.

and my bf ISNT the type to go into an LV store ALONE, let alone browse around eluxury or put himself on any handbag waiting list too...sigh

he thinks the damier is more unique and that too many people have fake monograms...

I personally like the Monogram better. But there are alot of people carrying them around, you should be different. Besides that was so sweet of him

Keep what he got you, IMO, it is much nicer because it came from him, as a token of his affection. Hell that would make a cheap Walmart bag special for me.

i guess i'll make my first monogram handbag piece a cabas piano or bagtinolles horizontal (hehe spelling?).

I say keep the Damier! everyone including their cousins have the monogram and ontop of that they (monogram and damier) are just of the same brown hues, just one is darker than the other and w/ the damier.. u really do not have to worry about the handles changing colors on ya.

my two cents....i say keep the damier. i have the monogram and damier and love both. but, what i love with the damier is that you don't have to worry about the leather handles getting stained, because as you know the leather is already dark brown - whereas with monogram the leather will change color (which a lot of people like) and water marks will/may show. i wouldn't worry about it making you feel too old, i've seen a lot of girls in their 20's and on carry the damier canvas. plus that speedy came from your wonderful bf =) if you look on the elux site, it's considered a new arrival.

I took my bag out for a spin this afternoon. i totally love it. i guess it looked dark in my bf apt or sth. it looked great when its out and about.

thanks for all your input guys! yeah and i am a messy person too, i will def put a stain on the vachetta if i got the mono speedy.

I have damier speedy and my mom has the mono speedy, so which one do you think looks older??? lol.

Seriously though, I think it's personal preference. The handles of the vachetta leather turns dark eventually anyways. I like damier because I don't need to worry about the patina.

keep the damier and buy yourself the monogram lol thats what id do

imho, i really love the damier alot more. it wont get as dirty as easily as the mono would and you wont have to worry about an uneven patina or any patina at all! i also think the damier print is alot nicer looking.. it's very classy. plus.. your bf put in all that effort and care towards getting you that bag. what a cute and incredibly sweet gesture. i could never get mine to get me an LV! i say keep the damier!

I love damier soo much better. Monogram fakes are EVERYWHERE. I know nothing about LV, but I pretty much always assume that monogram LV is fake unless the person is dressed VERY nicely. I don't do that with damier, though. If I was to get a practical LV, it would definitely be damier and not monogram!
