Ok so I already have the Coussin bag, the Wapity case and the Porte Monnaie Billets Viennois (french purse wallet) and I am seriously itching to get another LV item. I love the look of both the Papillon 26 and the Speedy 25 but can't make up my mind on which to get. So I want to hear from you gals that have either one or both. I would love to get your input to help make up my mind.

Papillon:
PROS: love the look of it, like how sturdy it is, love the inside of it.
CONS: hate how fat/wide it is

Speedy:
PROS: it's cute, love the lock
CONS: hate that it sags when you put your stuff in it, hate that pretty much everyone seems to own a speedy, not too into the pocket inside

I'd say the papillon. The shape is more unique. The 26 is a great size too.

Becks - can I add to your pro/con list? And I have to ask - hav eyou considered the Papillon 30? It comes with a baby pap which is super cute.

If you need to you can fit it over your shoulder - take one strap loop it thru the other & the single strap will fit just fine on the shoulder. It's snug but it works - you look like a cartographer but who cares? Also the monogram or Damier canvas is soft so you have a bit of give.
Versitility - this shape bag is a good day to evening bag. And if you get the 30 you have a good going out bag in the mini. The rounded shape of the Papillon is very feminine and playful. I think it hold it's resale value better than the speedy

Cons - no where to hold a cell phone, and it is a "lucky grab" when you want to find something - contents will shift - Since it is canvas it too might sag a bit.

Speedy:
pro- the handles are comfortable, there is the pocket inside that will fit a phone or pda. Easy to resell if you get sick of it but less value retained.

Cons- handles in the mono will get cruddy - even if you are careful. your contents roam freely making it a dig to find things.... but you can get a pursekit, and put cardboard at the bottom to fix the sag.

and jmo - it's frumpy. A very grown up handbag. No day to night possibilities to me - too stiff & "married" looking.

papillon, not rly a fan of speedies.

more pros for the papillon so go with it! I love the shape of it too and if i were to be in the market for an LV bag is the one that I would go with.

besides, i like to be able to throw a bag over my shoulder, and you can't do that w/the speedy.

every gal needs a speedy! The 25s don't sag nearly as much as the 30s. If you get a speedy and take good care of it, you can prob get almost all your money back when you sell it in a few years since there are price hikes all the time (btw i think the next price hike is feb. 1st so hurry!).

I voted for the Speedy. I just got the exact same one recently and I LOVE it! (put a piece of cardboard on the bottom -- works wonders!)

I haven't switched purses since I got it lol

also, *if* you want to wear this around your shoulder, the Papillon looks like a better choice. Even though I may love the look of a bag w/ short straps, I wouldn't buy one. For the owners, is the Speedy more uncomfortable to wear around the shoulder?

the speedy is a handheld bag--not really meant to be worn on the shoulders imo

i don't think i could get a speedy over my shoulder. i don't think i could barely get one over my elbow...

I have to go w/the speedy - I own the speedy 30, and I love that bag - I also put the cardboard at the bottom - it's wonderful

I saw the cutest Coach bag at the outlet, but didn't get it b/c it had short straps. I just hate not being able to carry a bag around my shoulder b/c it feels like someone could just rip it out of my hands and run off.

Anyways, I have both of these and I use my speedy muuuch more often. SPEEDY!
