Help me please...

The Louis Epi Collection...
I basically don't know much about LV but has this collection been faked? I recently saw some photos of this collection and I saw a black wallet in a consignment store. I don't know if it's real or not, what would be some tell tale signs if it isn't?? Thanks!

The epi is heavily faked like all other LV's. The fake epi usually has a different textile and most times has different type of lining. The LV is off sometimes is well. I also think that almost all epi (maybe except black) can't the colour right.

Do you think you can somehow take pics of the one at the consignment store? I am not too familiar with that kind of stores but do they offer refund within a period of time?

Most of the newer Epi bags aren't faked because they're made a lot different from how they used to be made. They're a lot more flexible now whereas the older epi was really hard from the older treatment. I've actually talked to counterfeiters in Asia and they said that they don't fake the Myrtille because it's hard to match the color LOL. I wanted to see how real the fakes are since the really good ones are hard to authenticate.

but what wallet are you talking about? make sure the LV symbol on the right isn't deeply imprinted. Also look at the shape of the LV. Also look at the stitching.

FAKE:

Look at how the LV looks a bit crooked and it's too deeply pressed into th epi leather. Here's another one.

This one's shape is funny & it's too big

A real one looks more like this:

See the difference?

Also, when you look inside the wallet make sure that the stamp looks similar to something like:

Keep in mind how the 'O' in Louis Vuitton is fully rounded and doesn't look like an '0'.

I am pretty sure I have seen fake Myrtille somewhere. I think newer epi bags not being faked yet is a very bold assumption. The fakers are faster than we can imagine. As far as the LV stamp, please so note that some are deeper but some are lighter, so it's not the only thing to look at.

Thanks Ladies! I think judging by the photos the one I found is fake. I thought that it was but since alot of people around where I'm from (probably wouldn't know a Louis if it hit them in the head). I thought that maybe I caught a lucky break. Oh well. Thanks though! Now I know what to look for in real ones!
