Is there somewhere I can go to see how to tell if a Chanel bag is real or fake? What do I look for? I'm particularly interested in the Cambon reporter style bag. I know nothing about Chanel, but I am assuming Ebay is riddled with fakes. |

Those bags are extremely expensive and if the price is too good to be true then its most likely fake. One of our members, Cebseb has a friend that has a forum called the handbag forum. I think they can tell you more about if they are real or fake. You might want to pm cebseb and ask him whats the name of the official site. |

| | | go to purseforum.com for authentications (its great there-im a member also), or try calling around at saks and neimans they might have a few leftovers from the sale (probably returns etc). those were almost 60% off. Ppl have been buying them and reselling for about 20% off retail price on ebay.
only cambons in beige and pink were on sale tho. I wouldnt recommend ebay because with that price, you might as well go buy it in a store! on sale at Neimans i think it was $1666 for the large reporter. Saks had a better sale. Goodluck

| | | Yea I agree, ebay is FULL of fakes! However if you do want to buy the bag from ebay, make sure the quilts are aligned, the CC is perfect, and the interior is the right color (black/white, white/black is hot pink interior. beige/black, pink/black is black interior)
I got a couple bags from the saks sale and I cant wait till dec. comes around, I am prepping my credit cards already. |

i think theres another sale at the end of the year. i found my bag in Saks in Virginia and had them do a charge send to Illinois.

Most of the chanel on Ebay are fake so you do need to be careful. Some Chanel bags are hard to authenticate just based on pics only.

Yes, CHANEL do have sales here and there. As a matter of fact, the CHANEL boutique here in TPA (International Plaza) is currently having a sale. Lots of older bags (circa '07 and presumably early this year), accessories like earrings, belts, etc. They also have a lot of tweed jackets which I am sure are from last year (but, who cares ) that are also on-sale. I spotted one in black & white and FORTUNATELY it was not my size  .
I will be stopping by after work today to pick up my pre-ordered pumps. Let me know if you want me to check out a certain bag, ie the cambon that you've mentioned.
Ask for Mary if you do happen to phone the store. She's awesome!
