First off, I must say that I got my first Missoni wardrobe piece last week- (besides scarves/ accessories)...It is a gorgeous belted cardigan- in fabulous pastels Lilac, sage, pinks, creams and browns- I have seen this pattern/color numerous times on "hollywood types" in magazines...It was originally priced $995.00 (before tax 8.75 here-yuk)...I got it for $398.00 pre tax- it had been marked down twice- first to $698 then $398 at the Nordstrom in Austin, Texas. I got the only one... Even the sales associate was shocked at how inexpensive it was for Missoni- such a great mark-down...Anyhow, it looks faboulous on me- everything is dreamworthy about it- I wore it yesterday for the first time(to go shopping of course ). However- it is SOOOOO FRAGILE- I feel like if I even look at it too closely it will snag. I am so terrified of getting a pull in it that I feel like I have to protect it the entire time I am wearing it- does anyone else have this issue with Missoni? I imagine that most people who wear a $1000 cardigan do not do much but sit and look pretty-...but I have to do more than just "model it"...so I am just wondering how others care for their Missoni pieces...my scarves and accessory pieces are fine- as they do not generally cover the top half of my body- and they just seem lower maintenance...I need to post pics...I have gone insane shopping the past 10 days- I could easily stock a mid-size boutique...but I have been to busy shopping to stop and take pics...lol
Your post reminded me that I must have a summer sweater my ex gave me on my birthday like...5 years ago lol. I remember I wore it once, I didn't really care about getting a pull though (because I didn't pay for it!!) My grand parents and parents all own some, I've never heard them complaining about how they're knitted fragile or pulled easily. What kind of knit did you get?
