Trendy (Affordable) Shops Suggestions

Hello all! Just graduated from college and moved to a big city to start a full-time position in the financial industry. I realized that I need to update my wardrobe (moving away from A&F, Express, etc.)

Would like to know what yall's favorite trendy afforable shops are (both online and B&M)? I'm thinking along the lines of H&M, Zara, Anthro and such. I've also just discovered ASOS and TopShop (a little obsessed with both right now). So if yall wouldn't mind, I'd love some suggestions

When you say financial industry the word "trendy" doesn't come to my mind. I would recommend Ann Taylor loft for suit separates. They have quite a few sales and coupons. I would invest in a decent, neutral suit to mix up. ATL isn't high end, but it will certainly do for your entry into the field. (They have petites, too, if you need them!) Then maybe punch it up with trendy blouses if they work. I think a lot of girls enter the professional world in skirts that are too short and slacks that are too tight. Watch that your Anthro tops aren't too sheer or low cut. Another place to build your work wardrobe if money is tight is New York & Co. They have great sales and plenty of cute things to get your wardrobe off to a great start.

Thanks for the input! Sorry for the mix-up, but I meant more for casual-wear. Luckily I have a lot of BananaRepublic and BCBG stocked up for work; but I was just thinking, in case my co-workers wanted to do stuff outside of work, or if I run into my manager on the weekends, I didn't wanna be decked out in college gear.

I do work in a very conservative industry, but based on my internship experience (with the same firm), we aren't required to wear suits everyday unless it's like...the first visit with a client. I'm relatively young compare to the rest of my office but I didn't wanna dress too mature for my age either.

Also, would you have any recommendations on a good, affordable, leather briefcase?

This may sound silly, but I found an awesome samsonite leather briefcase at the Goodwill for like $3. It was pretty much brand new, too... I also found a pretty black leather Nine West briefcase there as well, so I have a couple to choose from. Sometimes you can find really useable stuff like that at the thrift stores!

Stuff in zara is great, and not very expensive, for that ocations buy 2 or 3 shirts.
Gapncasual line is nice, also american Eagle kakhis, JBE and Haggar are nice signatures too.
