Live blood cell analysis

Anyone had that done before? I have an appointment booked in a couple of weeks and wanted to get some opinions.

Is there a specific issue/reason for this? Are you ok?

I am not sure. It's supposed to check your immune system. I don't really have any health problems but this test was recommended to me by a couple of people. One of them used to be a nurse. I thought it was worth a try. I was wondering if anyone else had this done before.

Oh I am fine; except I find that I don't have as much energy as before. I used to live on 6 hours of sleep no problem. Now I sleep 8 hours every night and still don't have the same amount of energy as before. That's why I thought I should have it checked out.

It could be that you're not getting 'good' sleep.

I've used dark field microscopy and it's realllly cool because of the intracellular detail that it can give -- so I guess if the analysis is done by a hematologist it could give you more info, but other blood tests like checking thyroid hormone levels, iron, hematocrit, etc. are good too.
It's not recognized as an established method of diagnosis, so in the end I'd still listen to my doctor.

It could just be because of age. All sorts of changes started in my early twenties (started to retain some fat, couldn't function with less than 7h sleep, more sensitive to stuff like crappy shoes)...
I started taking multivitamins which seem to help a bit (so maybe I'm just not eating properly!)

^ I agree!

Blood tests are quantitative, so you can compare the numbers with subsequent tests. The differential count in itself gives you composition of blood cells.
The live blood cell analysis is qualitative so it can really differ in interpretation between analysts.
