Dizzy after eating

Hey everyone For some reason every time after I eat a meal (healthy or unhealthy, small or large) I get dizzy and lightheaded. I don't have any heart problems and my blood pressure is good.so I'm not exactly sure if this is normal (I made a doctor appointment to check it out but its not til next Friday) so in the meantime does anyone have any ideas whats going on. Or has this happened to anyone?

postprandial hypotension or hypoglycemia come to mind.

I just googled postprandial hypotension, it said that it happens mostly to older people and virtually never to younger people (I'm only 20) is this true? How do you get these or are they just genetic?

it usually happens to people with high blood pressure or people with nervous system disorders. since you say your blood pressure is good, i think postprandial hypoglycemia is the likelier cause but as always you should see your doctor (as planned).

if your anemic, then that may be a good reason as well. Do you get kinda flushed when that happens?

since it happens during eating, maybe "dumping" syndrome?

ETA: or after eating?

could be a number of things.

hypoglycemia, effects of anemia, hypothyroid, kidney issues...

probably one of the first two, but definitely see your doctor.

like iron supplements? If so, yes I am.

Lynette and Shi,

I'm kind of nervous now. It only happens during eating, well it sometimes continues after the food is gone lol.

^ don't be nervous, at least you're going to the doctor. it's probably something minor. better to catch and treat whatever it is early.

Not pregnant. Its been happening for like 5-6 months give or take, I've just been too busy/lazy lately to even think about going to the doctor.
