Breast Augmentation

I know there are other threads on this but they were so old I wasn't sure if I should bump them up.

I had a consultation today for implants and I am 99% sure that I am going to do it. I am around a small 32B, I don't want big "fake" looking implants. The doc recommended I get gel instead of saline. He said 250 - 300 for the size. I am also getting an internal lift.

Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Best advice................ go to several doctors. I went to ten. Also check the docs medical training, background, any judgements against them, any settlements.
I knew everything about the doctor that was about to cut me open. You do not want a bad boob job. You have to look at it every single day.

Seek several opinions. It is your body and you need to be happy with it, but the best advice I can give you is rock what the good Lord gave ya.

Yep, do your research and choose your plastic surgeon carefully.

I didn't have BA surgery, but rhinoplasty, and it took me a good few years to decide on whether or not I wanted to do it and then another year to pick my guy. I went to two consults (two different surgeons) out of the same practice and I just knew the doc I picked was the right one. His aftercare was second to none. I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever, and my results are amazing.

Sounds like you are ready to do this, so just do your homework and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the info. This is something I have been thinking about doing for years. I feel very confident with the doctor I have decided to go with.

I have another question. Has anyone had an internal lift done? I am asking because I was talking to someone that had one and it lasted only 1 year. This makes me a little nervous, as I don't want to have saggy boobs a year after surgery.

I've never heard of an internal breast lift.

I did a bit of quick reading on it and saw that it was a different lift technique, using a laser. Sounds really interesting, actually. I also found some before/after pics of one person that had it done and the results were amazing!

YOU MUST WEAR A BRA AT ALL TIMES!! Getting BA does not mean you can go bra-less. My BFF and I got ours done at the same time (this was 8 years ago) she was the feisty type and went without a bra ALOT, I on the other hand wear a bra constantly. 8 years later, mine are perky hers are droooooooopy

I had 325cc saline implants and went from a 32A to a 32D. I was shooting for a C cup but you never know exactly what your end size will be. I'm glad I went against my doctor's advice of going larger He said that most girls after a certain period will wish they went bigger but I am happy with the results.

I could go without a bra, but I fear the droopy boob too so I usually wear one

How long was the recovery? I have been considering implants for a while. Also, did you use silicone (i think its back) or saline? is there a natural small droop to the breasts or are they perky all the time? If you do not feel comfortable replying, no worries

I don't think I had a recovery period unless you count from the time I got out of surgery, the drive home and the 2 hour nap I took My doctor does this rapid recovery procedure and wow it really was RAPID. I went out that same night and the next night to have dinner with my friends. The only thing I changed was not lifting anything heavy for a week. As for pain, he gave me some Celebrex, but after the 2nd day I stopped that because nothing hurt.

I got saline implants. We discussed the silicone gel but they were a grand more and you had to participate in this year long study. Also it was recommended you get a yearly mammogram because if one ever busted you wouldn't know it...they leak slowly and would not deflate. He said if the saline busts you will know because no more breast

Right after surgery they were very high on my chest, and I would say after about 6 months they were exactly where my breasts should be. They do have a natural droop to them when I am standing or leaning forward. However when laying down, not so much...but I think that could depend on how much you have to start with and I didn't have much at all. I don't have any under breast crease though, but I think this also depends on the individual. The same implant put in 5 different girls will look slightly different in each person.

I'm very happy with my breast augmentation. I would definitely do it again or recommend the doctor and his procedure to anyone.

Recovery depends upon your pain tolerance. Every one will experience differences.

I was on the sofa for a day, and took it easy for a few more days. No lifting for a few weeks.

So... anyone know how common it is for them to pop? I'm really active, and although not as much now, I used to skate in the local half pipe a lot, and have landed on my boobs hard more than once. I can't imagine if I had something poppable in them at that point in time

Bumping this instead of starting a new thread!

Has anyone on the forum had them done in Washington, Idaho or Oregon? I am looking to have mine re-done in the near future.

Oh wow, I'm so late to reply Anne! I keep fighting with the idea off and on. I hate that I've lost 3 cups since I had the boys, and am not content being an A now. But at the same time, the idea freaks me out, and I don't want to be fake either I'm quite conflicted. I'll probably try growth pills one more time, they always start to work, but then something happens and I stop taking them. I'd honestly rather spend 5k on tattoos than boobs

^ I agree. The idea of surgery and having something on me "fake" worries me...like I don't like fake eyelashes on me, I don't like having those chicken cutlet things in my bra, etc....and I'm worried that it will bug me! But I think if it were in me and the right size it would be ok. This is kinda embarrassing, but I've been wearing 2 bras lately to try and envision if I would like the size aspect of it...like seeing if it would bug me size wise. So far so good. When I don't have my bra on, I'm irritated at HOW FLAT I AM! I mean I was pretty small before, but I have gone down to a bit of skin & a nipple. Seriously. No shape whatsoever. I have always been pretty proud of being "flat" but this is ridiculous! I'm not looking for anything crazy, just something that looks right on me.

Anyway, I'm right there with you, Staycii!

Noreen, I know a handful of people who have had them in UT & CO...sorry if that is not helpful!

^ Yeah, most of my XS bikini tops are too big now, and it's freaking embarrassing. What am I supposed to do, shop in the little girls section? My swim tops before I had the boys were all mediums I know I couldn't get them to be the same size I was before, because those were really big for my frame, and I liked them since they were real, but if I get implants, I don't want them to look fake at all. I won't wear padded bras, or fake nails either so, it's definitely something I'd have to put a lot more thought about. What if I get them, and hate the fact that they're fake? Knowing me, it would happen.

Glad I'm not the only one that's conflicted about them!

Thanks Anne but trying to stay as close to home as possible! I have a couple of friends I need to talk to about the place they went to.

I felt exactly the same way you and staci do. I was a small B before I had kids and thought I would never have the surgery but after nursing I was left with barely anything! My surgery went well and I recovered fast and feel it was the best decision ever, worth every penny! It's been 8 years and nothings wrong with them, I just would like to get the silicone gel implants

I went and tried on implants, but prior to surgery I wanted to kind of walk around my house and see how I would like the new size. The best way I found to get an idea of how they would look was to take the rice test: Rice Test | Breast Implant Size Estimate It worked really well

Staycii, my problem is that I don't have a petite frame; I'm average, so being flat looks strange on me, you know what I mean? My rib cage is like the main feature. Of course my husband says he loves what I have (and I believe him) but he's behind whatever I want to do. I just want to look normal. Shirts that fit my body sag in that area, not to mention that I'm tired of feeling like a boy on the boat! I'm worried too about running. I love to run, and am worried about how they will affect that. (although rinning with 2 bras has been fine)

Anyway, we're starting a "fund" just in case

About the running - didn't JamieJ get hers done recently? I know that she is a big runner, maybe she would have some advice.

I've debated getting mine done - I don't have kids, but am pretty small. I'd have nothing without padded bras.
