I've had foot surgery done on both my feet, not at the same time of course. I have no arches and had problems with bunions, etc. It ended up being 4 different incisions. Yours might not be as extensive as mine was, but I was in and out of the hospital on the same day. I had to take a week off of work and keep my foot elevated at all times, crutches for about few weeks and a walking cast for a couple of months after that.
It wasn't that big of a hassle, IMO. Being on crutches was kind of a pain and keep in mind that depending on what foot you have done, you might not be able to drive for a while. Also, you kind of don't realize this, but since your foot is at the bottom of your body, all the blood rushes there and I really had to have my foot elevated a lot, even when I was in the walking cast. But it was manageble.
So, it was definitely worth it, in my case. Good luck with whatever you decide to do, and keep us posted!
Will I ever get a pair of Supers? Only time will tell.
