A Boob Thread

Needing something to be done with the girls whether it be a lift or implants or both. My left especially is looking like the Persistance of Time by Dali

Was wondering if anyone had them done (I did a search and see some of you had) and also if you have gotten pregnant again and how that affected them if you did. I am assuming they will go downhill again.

I can't stand my body anymore and just want it done but I and 50/50 on having another child in 3-4 years....I really want to try for a girl! LOL...but of course would be greatful for another boy as well.

Wait until you are done with the children.

IMO of course.

UNLESS you have plenty of cash to burn...

You read my mind! I have been thinking of starting another thread because i am seriously thinking of getting mine done within the next year.

I used to be a 32DD but since I have lost weight (actually lost body fat %) my have shrunk to a small 32B. They used to be full firm and perky and now, their not.

In addition, if i decide to do figure you almost need to have implants in order to win because that is part of the "look".

The one thing holding me back is the cost. In Dallas they are very expensive (probably close to $7 grand or more) and right now i am saving up for law school which takes precedent over breast implants. Clinics will do financing but i refuse to go into debt for boobs.

But i am putting away for it and hopefully for my birthday in april i will get them done.

I am 25 and do not plan on having children for a very long time if at all so i really can't answer your concerns about that, but i know some other girls on the forum here can

I would advise waiting if you want to have another child. The bodily fluctuations you experience while pregnant will *probably* affect the implants. Of course not everyone is the same, but with weight fluctuation you might end up with stretch marks/sagging. It would be more cost effective to have the baby then go for boobs.

Some people aren't effected at all by having a baby while others get very saggy. I would be sure if you are gonna do this to get silicone and to go UNDER the muscle ( They can't read a mammography anyway if they are not under the muscle). They won't sag as much that way if at all and with silicone they don't have to be changed every 8-10 years like with saline implants. Silicone if you love them are for life never have to be changed.

I was thinking of silicone myself but i hear that they can be pricier...is this true?

By biggest problem is going to be finding the right size...I used to be very big so i would want them to be on the larger side (maybe a D cup). As i said before, the reason why i would want them to be that big is because that is how big they were before and that is what i became accustom to. Not a lot of people believe me when i tell them that i was once able to wear a 32DD but i gain all my weight in my boobs and my butt so when i was 15lbs heavier then i am now (and had a higher bodyfat percentage) a large amount of it was gathered in those two areas.

Now that i have lost a large amount of bodyfat percentage and i plan on loosing more i don't want to look like a freak so i need to find something that will be a good size so if my weight does fluctuate i don't look strange at either end.

Jeanie i do have one question, i workout with weights and am on the more muscular side. I know a lot of figure competitors and bodybuilders get their breasts done and i wanted to know if it would be better for me to have them done under the muscle or over it.

Linds, I can't believe you changed that much in size! That is a huge difference.

Silicone for sure. It's soft & feels like natural boobage. I know people say their saline ones are soft but they just aren't like silicone.

I had mine after 2 kids then had a baby 8 years later. My boobs look better to me after having the 3rd baby. They look more natural but I really really hate the round-ball-implant-sitting-on-your-chest look. I think it's a plus to wait after a child because you are somewhat stretched from having milk anyways so your skin doesn't look so stretched over the implant & fake looking.

Mine didn't get all saggy after the baby and I wear a huge size E when breastfeeding.

Everyone's bodies are different though.

Ahhh, one of my favorite topic's. I've had 3 consults and I recommend that you do the same, no less then 3, do more if you can. I've lost 92 lbs and been pregnant six times. I can say with certainty that my girls are not pretty anymore. Whether or not you should wait is dependent upon what is most important to you and whether or not you are okay with getting a revision if you need one. It is possible that you could get implants without a lift if you do not have a severe degree of ptosis (droop). I have a friend who did fine through her first pregnancy, but after her second she had to have a revision/lift. If you need a lift and implants (and unless you are really big you will not be happy with a lift without the implants, it won't last as long) you are more likely to need a revision because once tissue is compromised (the scars from the lift) then it is easily restretched. Also if breastfeeding is important to you I would wait. Breastfeeding after implants is usually not a big deal, but after a lift you may not lactate the way you need to and could end up needing to supplement.

Silicone is about $600 more, but I think it's worth it. The real difference in expense comes with needing MRI's every 3 years (the recommended time period), a mammogram is not effective with silicone. Saline implants are more likely to ripple, and as has already been stated they don't feel as natural as silicone.

Another thing you will come across while getting your consults is the fact that some physicians refuse to do a lift/augmentation at the same time. Many want to do the lift, then do the augmentation about 3 months later. I am not doing this, I realize my scars may not heal as pretty (as if scars are pretty) but I refuse to pay for two surgeries.

Again...lots of consults. You will probably have to change your pec work out routine after getting implants, especially if you go under the muscle. Heavy lifting can cause the implant to be displaced. I'm sure there is lots of information on body building website's as to what you need to change in terms of your pec work.

Also, there's a really good physician in Tulsa who charges $5500 for a lift with augmentation (and I know he's good because I have seen his work on two friends and researched him). He has his own surgery center (he and a partner) and they allow people to stay the night who travel. Tulsa is just an hour and a half from me, and I'm just 5 hours from you.
The other two surgeon's were over $9,000

Always go under the muscle. Over is no good! They can't read a mammography if you are over and gravity will hit them hard over the years and you'll end up having to do it again and possibly have to get a lift. Saggy over the muscle implants look terrible, the nipples start to face the floor and they look like rocks in socks. The really fake looking implants that look like a softball cut in 2 are always over the muscle. If the DR. is top notch he will know how to release the muscle in the cleavage and place it over the implant correctly. Also don't let anyone talk you into implants through the belly button. The placement is awful and will for sure look uneven within 1 or 2 years ( they can't do this with silicone anyway.). The best placement is a small insision under the breast and sometimes through the armpit. Through the armpit they can sometimes place uneven and the recovery is longer. Worst case you might not be able to work chest anymore or have to use very light weights. It is best to ask someone from your gym who's breasts you like who did them and get a consult. See a few DRs before you decide on one and be sure he's board certified. Look carefully through their books and try to find someone who has the same boobs as yours. Also silicone run about 1K-1500 more than saline and worth every dime. Less of a chance of developing scar tissure which can make saline implants rock hard and again they are now yours for life if you love them. Good Luck! LMK if you need to know anything else!

i'm having mine done in January I can't wait!!
I totally second everything everyone said! under muscle, silicone is the best way to go. also if you have a lot of empy area to fill... like you say you've lost a lot of volume you will probably have to go quite large to fill the area if you want to avoid a lift. (a lift cost as much if not more than the implant and leaves a horrible scar)
make sure you see the dr a couple times... write down everything you want to know so you dont forget.
and i'm not sure about before/after kids but I have a few friends that had them done before kids and they are having them re done because they hate them since having children....

Linds- Almost forgot...... They have sizers when you go for a consult. What you wanna look at is the 550-650 low profile CC range. One cup size = 200 CC's and you lose a 1/2 cup of natural volume with all the moving stuff around. So a 600CC bag will take you a touch over what you wanna be at , if you don't wanna be greedy 550 should do it ( Be GREEDY! I did. I have a 780CC low profile bag. I'm a 34DD starting from a A). Personally I always suggest a low profile implant for almost everyone. Low profile is less frontal projection but they are nice and wide so you get good cleavage and when someone is standing behind you and you lift your arms you can see the breast slightly from behind. Very sexy! High profile implants are more frontal volume but no cleavage, just terrible looking. Those softball boobs are usually high profile and they use them sometimes with lifts when the breast already has a lot of volume. Also before the surgery be sure to get your registration card. The DR. I worked for was an expert on fixing bad boob jobs and we actually got people from a Dr. in Utah that was reusing implants and burning the serial numbers off so he could do cut rate boob jobs and burn'em and churn'em. He can't get convicted him or his partner because the main judge in the state is his brother so it never goes anywhere. Does his surgery out of a center and has everyone stay there so they can't say anything. BEWARE and do research!

Sunshine- The going rate for a silicone boob job without lift in the US is in the 6000-6500 range. Where I live in basically in NYC it's way more than that. Lift + Aug average 8500-10,000 again much higher where I live. There is no such thing as a good deal on plastic surgery unless you wanna do it a few times. I worked for a DR. who fixed everyone else's screw-ups and it's not pretty. He was booked for four months straight! That is unheard of for a plastic surgeon!....... They can read a mammography no matter what kind of implant you have as long as it's under the muscle so whomever told you they can't read a mammography with a silicone implant is misinformed or refering to over the muscle implant placement. Worse case they will do a sonogram as long as your under the muscle an MRI don't have to be done. Ladies, just be sure to do your homework and research! There are no deep discounts on plastic surgery! It's for life and worth the investment and the cost to fix a screw-up is a few times what the first surgery would cost. Be careful with this! It's a huge life changing decision!

GOOD LUCK!! About 2 weeks before and continue till 3 weeks after take Arnica Montana. They sell them in health food and vitamin shops. It will cut down DRASTICALLY on bruising. Just follow the directions on the bottle and be sure to buy enough for the full 5 weeks. It melts under the tongue. Also when you are totally healed up, after your stitches come out start taking 400mgs of vitamin E per day. It will keep the implants from forming scar tissue. Continue it FOREVER! Again, Good Luck!

oh and you probably know the answer to this as well... but i'm also getting "smart lipo" of the abdomen at the same time... do you have thoughts on it? i've read a lot and it all seems pretty positive but i'm sure you've seen results personally?

My Dr. didn't do it as he says the traditional method is much better result and long term wise. Thing about any lipo is the fat can start to go to other areas if you start to gain. My Dr. has always done full body on everyone unless it was a small areas and they were in good shape. When you get full body when you do start to put weight on it's an even gain. Not heavy in an one spot. So don't know really much about the smart lipo procedure. If your gonna do it, lose all the weight you can cause it's easier to get the fat cells when they are smaller and they can get much more of them out that way. This way if you gain back it won't come back lumpy or uneven. Better to Jenny Craig it till your surgery and 2 weeks after.

but i'm not really going for it to get rid of the fat... it's because since I had my baby I have a little bit of loose skin in my lower abdomen. It isn't really bad where I want a tummy tuck (the scar would definitely be far worse) but what i've heard and the reading i've done, the laser used in the smart lipo tightens the skin. I'm in pretty good shape, and really not to worried about the fat loss it's more the skin tightening i'm hoping for...

Somebody needs to be with you for about 4 days to help you in and out of bed. You will feel fine by day 2 but sore just hard to get out of bed and you will need help. You won't be able to lift heavy for about 4-6 weeks. I don't know if a 1 yr old would be considered heavy lifting but count on not lifting your child at least till the stitches are out. Have a bunch of pillows handy or one of those things that tilts the pillow so you can sit up and watch TV. Don't know what they are called cause your not gonna be sleeping laying flat. Too uncomfortable. Your gonna be sleeping on an incline like a hospital bed so prepare for that. The lipo is a joke. No pain, nothing so don't worry about that.

If he's giving you a good deal give it a shot! Just explain to him why you really want it. No real pain or recovery from lipo. Just some bruising, swelling and frequent urination. Nothing crazy, no pain. Stomach is the easiest area healing wise. Very fast healing.
