IUC birth control

Hey, I have a few questions about IUC birth control, mainly Mirana. I have tried multiple birth control pills and I have hated all of them! This is a bit personal but I am concerned about any sexual side effects, on every birth control I've tried there's always a decrease in sensitivity "down there" and a lack of sex drive as well as many many other side effects. . . which is not typical!

Please Help!

I have Mirana. Just got my new one today so I have it for 5 years. What did you wanna know about it? There are no side effects at all and basically no periods then entire time that it's put in ( you'll get 1 or 2 a year very light for 1 day). Very painful insertion and removal. But for the less than five minutes of pain well. well worth it.

I've just had many side effects on all the birth control pills I've tried. . . moodiness, loss of sex drive/sensation, weight gain etc. so I am just wondering if it's the same if I got Mirana?

There are no side effects because it's mainly the barrier method with a small amount of hormones that stay in your uterous and don't travel through your body or bloodstream. You might not even quailify to get it so your honestly better off talking to a dr. first.

I think an IUD is best if a person has had kids first.

Yes exactly! With mirana they will only give it to you if you are married or in a committed monogamous relationship and they prefer if you have at least one child already otherwise they won't give it to you. They are very picky who they give it to because it's so effective that they are afraid of causing an STD or AIDS epidemic. They also want you to already have had a child just in case there is a screw up with it and makes you sterile. That's at least what my Dr told me.

I think there was already a thread on this. Anyway I had the Mirena for a few months and had to take it out because the string was irritating and I had pelvic pain when I went to the restroom so I just hopped back on the Depo. The Mirena was a pain going in but pretty easy coming out. Oh and I've had kids. I don't think the doc can deny you simply because you haven't had kids yet.
