Can you have Pneumonia with no Fever?

I have been fighting this chest cold for about 2 1/2 weeks and I keep getting worse instead of better. I think I am going to the urgent care clinic as I have completely hit a wall. I have never felt like this, even when I smoked. I have been on a sudafed/guanifesen combo for a week and I am worse. I have had no other symptoms though other than chest congestion so it's hard to believe I could have something that serious. It feels like someone is sitting on my chest.

Yes, you can definitely have pneumonia without fever. My son had the same symptoms you're having, no fever either. Doctores finally did a chest x-ray and turned out he had pneumonia. If you feel as bad as you sound, you should get to a doctor! Hope you feel better soon!

Agree. My second daughter had pneumonia with no fever as well...same symptoms. Get checked; pneumonia will not go away without treatment. I hope you feel better soon.

I just called the urgent care on my insurance and they close at 3:00. (7 minutes from now). I guess I'll go tomorrow if I don't feel better.

Maybe it is bronchitis? I know they aren't doctors but have you tried looking up your symptoms at places like webmd.com?

Yep, could be bronchitis too, but bronchitis shouldn't be left untreated either. It can lead to pneumonia.

My mom gets a pneumonia shot because of breathing problems and the vaccine gave her a horrible fever. Its a vicious vaccine.

I know people who have had pneumonia and didn't even know it. Called it walking pneumonia!

walking pneumonia is possible.. i've had it every winter for the last two years. i'm currently coughing a lot with no other symptoms (same as before). just got a scrip for some cough suppressants and hopefully itll go away soon. definitely go see the dr when you can, you'll be coughing for months otherwise.

Get checked out. It sounds like you might have pneumonia...don't try to tough it out. Drink a lot of fluids and rest as much as you can. Get well soon!

Yes. As a child I was diagnosed with something I believe was called Walking-Pneumonia. Which apparently is a lesser version of Pneumonia, but if you do not rest and take care of yourself properly can turn into full blown Pneumonia. Be careful, take care of yourself, and I hope you are alright.

Be aware though that usually once you get bronchitis/Pneumonia

it becomes a regular issue every year

This crap must be going around? I had to check myself into Urgent Care last night with my poor daughter in tow since I am a single parent. We were in there for over 3 hours, and they did chest x-rays. I have Bronchittis AGAIN! I say again because I had Bronchittis already once this year. This time it really came on strong really fast and I am in some nasty pain from having "coughing fits". Last night was rough with sweating, chills and coughing all night long. This is miserable.
