Soy milk, frozen berries or other fruit...Maple syrup, some spinach leaves, raw (you won't taste them but they're superhealthy). I love any kind of berries, in summer frozen, with soy milk and a banana. And a few spinach leaves!
I make mine either with soy milk or plain nonfat yogurt (about a cup), a splash of OJ, half a banana (frozen or not) & a few fresh or frozen strawberries, raspberries or blueberries, depending on what I have.
I also make a pina colada one sometimes - yogurt base with coconut milk, some chunks of pineapple & a couple drops of rum extract if I'm feeling sassy!:magwink
1/2 cup soy milk
1/2 cup fat-free plain yogurt
1/2 frozen banana, peeled and chopped
2 tablespoons powdered protein supplement
1 1/2 tablespoons flax seed
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
*****
I start with that basic recipe; sometimes use blueberries and/or raspberries instead of strawberries. I also like putting orange sherbet (instead of a frozen banana) in with the strawberries, or lime sherbet with raspberries.
I like vanilla soy milk and vanilla yogurt for some extra flavor, often leave the honey out, and don't always have the protein supplement or flax seed.
Well if you want to go the really lazy way out, Jet makes this smoothie mix stuff (it's liquid, though, not gross powder). I got it at Sam's, but I don't know where else they might have it. They make peach, strawberry, wildberry, and mango. Peach and mango mixed together are my favorite. Amazon.com: Jet Extreme Peach Fruit and Green Tea Smoothie Mix: Gourmet Food
i hate bananas! i guess it's because of the potasium(sp) that they are in so many smoothies, but i can't stand them. i usually get a choc, peanut butter, protein powder ones. they come with banana, but i ask that it be left out.
