What to wear for work?

I came from a work environment where dress code is more casual. Jeans and collared shirts are not frown upon. Now, though, I work where clients coming to the office and actually going into the offices are not unusual. I mean, some of them literally look over your shoulder. So, dress code is very strict. Anyway, jeans, definitely are a no-no. How about a collared shirt / sports shirt? What about a sweater (no hood?) Lastly, for meetings, is it ok to wear just a long sleeved blouse - no blazer?

Just registered and I was caught by your post.

For me, dress according to where you and for the purpose. For work or client calls, dress formally. " Smart Casual" may be a little tricky so better dress smart.

There are times when you can dress down.. and I believe this is not during your professional interactions.

That is the problem, Peony Scott. I used to work with parachutetechs (if you are not familiar, I added the link) and we did not have clients visiting our offices - at least not for my department. So, we can dress casually. I think I just need to rehash on what is smart casual. Just to be clear, smart casual can be the following, right?

Skirt
pants (no denim)
blouse with or without collar?
cardigan or sweater with no writing / message?
shoes
no boots?

What to wear for work?

Hi, well, in my own view, "smart casual" term is in relation of modern fashion in many ways of dressing up most appropriately described as wearing neat and professional attire. However, it really depends on the company you are working for. Yes, most of the time denims are a "no" to a business attire

Dress is one of the main question arises at work. What to wear is the question and i suggest formal dressing if your work is at office while casual dressing is appropriate when your work is physical.

I am also an employee and I used to wear formal dresses at my work, mostly I prefer to wear long skirts with blouses (collared) and formal pants with shirts and jackets and in footwear I mostly prefer shoes.
