Todays Eats
Breakfast: Kashi Cereal with nonfat milk
Snack: Protein Bar
Lunch: 1 piece of whole wheat toast with natural PB and strawberries on top
Snack: 1 piece of turkey & cheese rolled up

Dinner.. I am going to Macaroni Grill to meet up with family I haven't seen in years. I've read that this restaurant is one of the worst because of the ridiculously high amounts of salt they have in their foods. I'm going to see if I can find a online menu with nutritional info before I go

Work out this morning: Ran 2 miles and then walked 2 miles at a 6% incline

Alanna is right. My metabolism is already really high, but during Cross country one year we had a nutritionist come in. He had me fill in a bunch of numbers and I was coming out with almost 3.5k per day! (This is when we had meets every weekend and we ran 4-5 miles per day with about a mile's worth of sprinting/speed workouts PLUS abs/core exercises)

Today:
Breakfast- bagel
Lunch- Same sandwich
Snack- DELICIOUS peach
Dinner- Probably a stir fry of some sort

Well this weekend i was bad and i was bad yesterday so today i am back on track!!!

This AM did my normal yogurt with uncle sam's and some protien powder along with 1/2 a grapefruit.

I had 20 cheese kashi crackers for a snack.

For lunch i had 1/2 or my greens and whey protien bar plus a whole big bowl of berries.

Snack consisted of 100g of ground turkey, 1tbs of shredded cheese and some shredded lettuce.

Dinner tonite is going to be chicken fajitas. I will saute chicken breast in southwest seasoning, and add some bell peppers to the mix. Then i have gaucamole and salsa with plain yogurt for toppings and we will make lettuce fajita wraps out of em!!!

Going to the gym in about 15 minutes. Just took my Citruline, argenine, hot rocks, some tyrosine and a spike for added energy before i workout. Oh an my creatine. I will be working on legs today...20 mins on the stairmaster and then focusing on my deadlift again today.

Did really well this weekend on bench presses though!! My BF had to spot me but i was able to push about 70-80lbs!!!

For some crazy reason, I wake up at night sometimes and am hungry. I have tried loading up before going to bed, but I really don't like doing that. I think I am going to start eating a handful of nuts in the middle of the night instead. They are calorie dense so that I can go back to sleep.

B: Banana & 1/2 slice of toast. Black tea.
L: Leftovers from last night - rice, bbq beef & grilled zucchini
E: Interval day - 400, 600, 800 @ 6.0 --3.55 mi total
D: Rice, tortilla crusted tilapia, corn, cheese broccoli
Slice of Jello cheesecake, bit of butterscotch brownie & mini fruit roll-up
S: ??

this makes me sad alissa. sweetie, you probably feel like crap because you aren't eating. i do this all the time if i am stressed about something and then i just end up feeling worse because my body has no fuel. even when not hungry, you need to figure out a meal plan that gets some nutrients into you.

i get like this as well and actually force food down my throat because i know that i am just going end up compensating later in the week. even if it means eating highly nutritious but high calorie food (nut butters, avocado, olive oil, smoothies) just to get myself to 1200 calories for the day (which is way less than i need, but at least i hit a minimum).

since i was unhappy with weight i put on last year and now that i lost it i am struggling with making sure that i get enough calories to maintain my weight. shifting your mindset is so hard in that regard.

So last night at Macaroni Grill I had a house salad with the dressing on the side and a cup of wedding soup.... it was extremely hard to not have a big thing of creamy pasta... so I treated myself to a white sangria peach martini... I don't know if that was a very good idea either

Todays Eats

Breakfast: 1 piece of turkey with string cheese and a tall iced nonfat carmel machiatto... I was so tired I had to have something

Lunch: Half turkey sandwich on whole wheat with lite baby swiss and lil bit of mustard, romaine and a slice of tomato.... then I ate the rest of the tomato

Snack: Whole wheat toast with natural PB with strawberries on top (my new favorite thing)

Dinner: Boys are at baseball so probably cereal with strawberries and blueberries.

Worked out this morning on my pilates machine, 1 hour total body workout

It is so encouraging to read everyone's posts. We all have good days and bad days and it's so much easier to come back from the bad days when we have each other to relate to.

Everyone is doing such an awesome job. Keep it up girls

Oy, today was bad. I've been getting 6 hrs of sleep every night because I want to stay up and talk to my boyfriend (he works 9-midnight most nights ). I woke up late-ish so I didn't have time to make lunch in the morning, so I grabbed a can of Ravioli...it was 98% fat free but still YUCK. Didn't have breakfast. Dinner was a little better, veggie fried rice with onions, green onions, frozen veggie medley. Yum.

I am about to eat a peach right now

Will try harder tomorrow

Hello All,

I just joined AF, but having been using it to help authenticate for the last 2 months. sooooo helpful!

Anyway, I am a fitness coach/group fitness ambassador/and a weight loss program consultant and I am so excited to have found this thread. You guys are all doing great and I admire your dedication to making a healthy lifestyle change. I did want to add that the human body generally needs about 1100 calories/day just to maintain basic body functions such as breathing, digestion, muscle repair, etc. Please keep this in mind when planning your daily caloric intake, and how many calories you are going to burn with exercise. If you are only taking in 1400 calories and burning 400-600 with exercise you aren't getting enough and this will be counter-productive for you.

I hope that helps a little and I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you, as I love to get tips and food ideas from others too. There's always something to learn in this field which is why I love my job! I unfortunately DO NOT enjoy cooking so quick, easy, healthy, on the go menus really help me out. I tend to like to drink my meals because I don't like to take the time to stop and eat. Any suggestions of things that have worked for any of you?

Looking forward to hearing your responses!

-Maisy

^welcome!!! i am sure that your education and knowledge will be a great contribution to this thread.

for me, the best way to keep up with my "to go" lifestyle is to take a couple of hours each week (usually on sunday or tuesday nights) and prewash and precut everything and put it into glad containers. i eat a lot of salads and so this works out really well for me - i just toss all the ingredients together and drizzle some dressing and i am good.

Ooooo i like this idea!!!

I am super picky about what i eat so i usually don't go out to eat very often, but i don't mind cuz i LOVE to cook. What i usually do is cook a bit extra for dinner and then i have leftovers which either I or my BF will take for lunch. Makes it so much easier!!

Yesterday i did a lot better then i was this weekend. The weekend we just sat around and watched star trek and star wars and ate. Did a bit of working out but not as much as i normally like to when i am out in the country.

Then monday came around and it was mexican potluck day at work...tuesday we had leftover mexican potluck at work...

Yesterday though...for breakfast i had yogurt with oats and fruit again. Oh and some protein.

Snack was some fresh popped popcorn and kashi crackers.

Lunch i went out to the Steak and Ale and had the salad bar. Made a great salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dressing!

Snack was the other half of my protein bar and a couple more crackers. I am going to eat the rest of that box today because i think i need to go back to eating only fruits, veggies and meat like i was before (but having some grains in the AM).

Came home and had some dried apricots before i went to the gym.

Then BF came home and we made healthy bangers and mash!. We got these great chicken sausages from costco so we grilled em up, and i made my mashed tatters with a bit of goat cheese and some becel margirine...super good!!

Went to the gym for 45 minutes...did mostly upper body, some bench presses, chin ups, push ups, tricep pulley exercizes and even did a few bicep curls with the 17.5 pounders. Then i did my stairmaster and took the dog for a nice long walk after dinner.

This AM we had grapefruit and protein for breakfast with rye bread on the side and some blueberries. Also had some organic white tea with it.
