My eating for the past few days has been good and on track...I'm slowly starting exercise again.
I was bummed that when I ran today, my breathing wasn't improved. I think I'm going to have to ask my doctor for some more damn tests unless he can tell me why this is happening.
At least I've lost a little weight, but still a LOT to go!

^we used to be very close in size before my horrid year of medical mysteries.
I am 5'3. The weight I am shooting for is 105-110, which has been my "healthy" weight for the past 5 years before all this happened.

I have the same goal as you as well!!

Right now i am at 113 with a 17% bodyfat percentage. In all honesty i wouldn't mind lowering the bodyfat percentage down to say 15% or even 12% but i would also like to put on 15lbs of muscle. I wouldn't mind being 5'3" 130lbs as long as it was mostly muscle!!

I did okay when it came to eating this weekend. I didn't gorge myself as much as i normally do when i go out to the BF's parents place. We had some really great salmon yesterday for lunch with squash and salad.

Dinner on saturday night i made shrimp stir fry with soy vey very very terriyaki and stir fry veggies. That was pretty good too!

Today it is back to my chili diet though. I am making a fresh batch today!! So it is chili for lunch and dinner with some trail mix and veggies for snacks.

Workout wise i did okay this weekend. I pulled 170lbs with my deadlift on saturday which is a new personal record!! I tried to add 50lbs to my clean and jerk but i had a hard time cleaning the bar. Still have to work on that but i will get there. I watched the women's 53kg weightlifting yesterday and that was pretty inspiring for me!! But i still have a ways to go!! Also played a bit of soccer with the BF and went for an early morning hike in the woods.

Keep up the amazing work Linds. I'm going to make some chilli also. I get tired of eating baked chicken, it gets kind of boring after a while. Are you following a high protein diet since you're contemplating competing?

Wow everyone is doing so well!
I had a great weekend - lots of outdoor exercise.
Friday afternoon I took my dog for a long walk around the lake. Then I came home and it was pool party time and I swam around for about 2 hours including one "treading water" contest with my roommates, which resulted in me treading water for 20 min - holy CRUD that is hard to do for a while!

Saturday
4m run at 6.0
10 min on Nautilus Stair climber
45 min weights -
heavy hand weight sfor squats + lunges (40lbs each hand - 3 sets of 12 each)
back, biceps, lower back and I tried Deadlifts again after watching an online tutorial and DAMN my hamstrings hurt yesterday morning!

Yesterday - went to beach and played with my dog in the water and the nwent for a 2.5 m walk on the sand - my calves were burning
Came home and did 20 min of Pilates.

Eats - okay - gotta relaly get that back on track during the weekends. I tend to go off a bit.

Chili is great to eat especially if you make it with grass fed beef (which is really low in fat and high in protien as well as omega 3!). The chili i make is like a meal of it's own and it tastes soooo good!

I am trying to do high protein but i still need to have some carbohydrates because i don't want to go too far intpo ketosis where i start to burn muscle as well. For me it really is about when i am eating my carbs. I will do my carbs mainly in the morning and then do fats and protein in the afternoon/evening. Simple carbs after a workout are also essential.

I probably won't be competing any time this year because getting into that form of shape takes time but we will see!

Grass-fed beef, I don't think they carry that around here. I've never even heard of it. Do you get it at a whole-food store? I think I might try your recipie because I've never made chilli before and yours sounded delicious. Thanks for the info.

I get my grass fed beef at Whole Foods, but i am sure if you did a search on google for grass fed beef plus N. Carolina you may be able to find some farmers in your area who sell it.

Grass fed beef is esentially beef from cows that are just fed grass instead of grains which can make them fattier and will give them an imbalanced omega 3-6-9 ratio. It even has a better taste then regular beef (a bit sweeter!). Applegate farms is a company that makes grass fed beef hot dogs and they are seriously the BEST hot dogs i have ever had. And they are good for you!

I made another batch of chili last night!!

This morning i had for breakfast:

100g of quinoa with cinnamon and a dash of honey
2/3 of a grapefruit
pea protien powder with some cocoa and another dash of honey
a serving of canned pumpkin.
1tsp of creatine

Going to the gym with the BF tonite to do upper body.

My fitness goal is to cut back and lose two extra pounds that have put me on the larger end of 25. Yes, they are from over indulging . Hopefully when the colder weather rolls around I won't feel like eating icecream as much.

I would like to find a good snack substitute because sometimes I feel like munching. Usually I pop a bag of popcorn. Does anyone have a better substitute? I am tired of the popcorn getting into my gums. If only pirate booty or the like was calorie free.

Instead of popcorn, try the Quaker Honey Vanilla Rice Cakes. Delicious and they do have the same crunchy consistency of popcorn. 1 rice cake is about 50 calories. I know there are plain rice cakes with about half the calories as well.

i do cereal too. but if you have a whole foods, or equivalent nearby, try out some of the soy chips. they are a lot like rice cakes and come in great flavors and you can eat like 1/2 the bag for 150 calories.

I haven't been eating enough since I'm in my crazy mad rush prior to the first day of school...basically the 10 days before school starts are total insanity at my job. I've been working 10-12 hours a day.
Today-
uncle sam whole grain cereal with 1/2 c. unsweetened vanilla soy milk
2 baby plums
1 apple
1 big plate of salad with carrots and other veggies and vinegar as dressing
2 spoonfuls of vegan coleslaw
8 small pretzels
and then I was stuck at work with no food and about to pass out so I had a whole wheat hot dog bun...
about to head home and have some real food for dinner!
