Inner thigh workout?

I know that unless you change your diet, you can't get rid of that excess flab that's either under your arms or on your inner thighs but I heard that there is a way you can tone your inner thighs to make it look more lean.

Anyone know any good workouts?

squats and lunges...they work all muscles of your legs.

pilates is also great for working your legs into long, lean muscles (think ballet dancers).

Does running work all parts of your leg muscles or is it just your outer thighs?

I third (or whatever) squats and lunges. Just be careful and when doing lunges, don't let your knee go over your toe! I strained my knee this way, before I knew better

Also, make sure and squeeze your inner thigh muscles when doing them...imgaine they are the only muscles holding/lifting you to get as much weight as possible going through them (if that makes sense).

if you use proper form, running should work all parts of your legs.

but if you really want lean muscles, you need to build it with a strength training/resistance program. the idea that weight lifting bulks you is antiquated.

running is an aerobic, while if combined with the proper diet will help you lose weight, it won't really help you build up lean muscle.

if you want to lean up your inner thigh - squats and lunges.

Do the inner thighs get worked more in squats with a wider stance (like at least heel-toe distance from hip width)?

Same for squats, I think. Gotta stick your butt out like you're about to sit down in a chair that's a bit too far behind you.

ive been doing a lot of squats lately with my dumbbells. my bf says my legs look skinnier, though I'm not quite sure myself lol. it's still good to hear though =)

yeah, you have to keep the weight on your heels while you're doing squats. I use a chair, like I'm about to sit down, but I only let my ass touch the edge of the seat, and then I go right back up.

SQUATS!! I have soccer legs (meaty quads and calves!) but I swear squats and lunges help define all muscles. Watch your FORM - more important than anything. Running is great for legs but you must have resistance training as well ;)

In addition to squats and lunges I find that ballet piles with weights in my hands also help. They're sort of like squats but with your toes pointed outward. My advice is NOT to do those at the gym though... men will stare!!! haha

I actually really like the ENVY Girls workout. It seems a little cheesy, but the exercises are pretty unique and effective. The set comes with 4 dvd's that each focus on legs, butt, abs and arms. I've been focusing mainly on the legs dvd because that's what I want to improve on the most. They show you different types of squats and lunges and all the exercises are done with 2-5 lbs weights. It's a good strength and cardio workout at the same time. I've always thought that squats and lunges were pretty boring, but these exercises mixes them up and makes them more interesting.

ETA: The website sells it for about $30 but I got mine on Ebay for $17 shipped (it was a best offer auction).

Walking lunges, box squats, and sumo deadlifts are great.
