Would you get up at 4:30 a.m for your exercise fix if you had to?

I think I'm going to have to this year...because my gym is in town and I work out by where I live. Is this insane? I can't work out after work because I've got horse-poop shoveling duties to tend to. Last year I got up at 4:45 a.m. to work out, so I guess it's not that much worse, but I feel a little wierd that I'm willing to basically wake up in the night to work out.

In high school I used to play waterpolo and we had practices at 5am. It was exhausting but also energizing at the same time, if you know what I mean. Just don't kill yourself over it, and take days off if you need to, because I think you are more prone to getting sick if you don't get enough sleep.

I used to do that, and it almost killed me! I was up at 4am and falling asleep in my dinner at 7pm.

Honestly, no. I won't wake up before 8am for most anything...just not a morning person. But if you're motivated and you can get out of bed, go for it!

This past school year I was falling asleep by 9:30 or 10...sometimes I would get into bed at 8:30 p.m. The big downside to getting up so early is there are basically no waking hours left for relaxing...I'm usually working till 5 or 6, then you come home and have to cook & eat, then there's only 2 hours before bedtime!

I guess the alternative is being cranky all the time because I feel out of shape, so maybe the sacrifice is worth it? I can't work out after work because I am usually exhausted and I know I'd blow off my workouts. At 4:45 am I was barely conscious so I was on auto-pilot to go to the gym.

I get up that early and run probably 3 times a week (at least that's what I shoot for). It also depends on how busy my work schedule is and how late I get home at night. I never know when I'm going to be home from work in the evenings and so if I don't get it done in the morning, then it most likely won't get done. Plus it's to damn hot here in FL to run in the afternoon/evening!

My parents get up at 3:15-3:30 to work out which is insane! They are almost 60 years old and still do it. My dad leaves for work by 5:15 and my parents are both like me and are too lazy to do it after work!
