windsor pilates?

i just ordered the dvd
it was the advanced body slimming ....supposed to burn more calories?

"Advanced Body Slimming DVD features a faster, more dynamic calorie burning version of Winsor Pilates to help you lose weight, shed inches and re-sculpt your body.

It's a fun, less talk, no nonsense approach to those that have familiarized themselves with Mari Winsor's program.

With only three consistent workouts a week, you will not only change your body, you will change your life"

it says run time is only 22 minutes tho.. i dont know how many calories u could really burn in 22 min...

i probabley should've gotten the beginners dvd too because i've never done this before...

anybody have any feedback on this dvd or workout or whatever it is?

I don't know if that is one of the videos I have or not but, yes, it can make a difference with only 20 minutes 3 times a week. It isn't meant to burn calories neccesarily but it builds muscle.

OH GOD
advanced body slimming IS SO ADVANCED
i hope you are experienced with pilates

i honestly can't even contort myself into some of the positions in that video
i have been doing pilates for roughly a year now

you should definitely start with beginners
if you haven't doen pilates before this will be very difficult for you imo

and yes for pilates all you need is 20 minutes
it's extremely effective
it's my favourite exercise by far

I really like Winsor Pilates ~ but I agree, starting with the beginners is the best bet

I agree too! I love Windsor pilates but if you're not familiar with it you want to get the basics down and really have good form before you move on! And even though it's a short workout, it really it pretty challanging. I remember that I ached all over the first time I did it! Have fun!

ok well i got the dvd... put it in the dvd player and watched it first...
ok.. it looked easy enough... and if i needed to learn something i could pause it until i get it right....

uggggghhhhhhhh it totally kicked my ass!!!!!! my abs and my back hurt like hell. the exercises were actually easy... it was just the thing of being able to do them. i have a really boney backand tail bone so it hurt like hell when i had to "roll" up and down... maybe i should invest in a cushy mat?
omg... the girls on the video make it look so easy when they lay flat on their back and bring their legs and upper body straight up to form a V... i couldn't even lift my top half off the floor...
but anyways.. it was fun.. kinda...
i like how almost every move works almost every muscle in ur body...

I felt the same way the first time I tried it!!! I have the same issue with the rolling, it hurts my tailbone ~ I now bring out the Great Dane's Costco dog bed and use that as a cushion

lol I have that same problem too, it hurts to even think about doing sit ups because of that. During one of my bio classes I actually let a classmate put her hand down my pants so she could feel my sacral bones I always thought my vertebrae was weird because of it, glad to hear I'm not alone!

Resurrecting a dead thread is a weird way to do that. Better go to the newbie thread and say hi there.
Oh- welcome anyway!

I bought a winsor video and it kicked my butt too. The girls make it look so easy and I looked like an idiot
I tried it after having my son, but gave up. My friend swears that it made her "core" strength the best ever. Maybe I will get back into it after reading this thread.
