Does anyone have any work out DVD's they can recommend?

Now that the weather is super hot it is that much harder to get to the gym. Can anyone recommend any good workout DVDs that are fun and burn calories? I already have a Crunch Yoga dvd and I am getting kind of bored of that one. Thanks in advance!

Neena and (whatever the hell the name is [rhymes with the other's name])'s belly dance tapes.

Carmen Electra's strech aerobics, or the old Jane fnda step tapes (lots of laughs while working out)

Tae-Bo is way too confusing for me. I like Carmen Electra's strip tease series.

Gilad's Total Body Sculpt. Motivating & you will definitely feel the burn in your muscles! I do these probably 3-4x per week! I feel so great afterwards...

Pilates...I think that the one I have is by a lady named Diana...she's so calm and serene it makes me laugh when she says "now lay on your stomach, but your arms and legs in the air and do little swimmies...that's right, you're doing great! just keep doing little swimmies.."

YEs!! that's a great one. I have all 5! number 2 is the only one that is actually a workout (the others are routines) and it is really good.

Even the routine ones I love, but I'm a dance gal, and Erik enjoys them, although at first I felt like a complete idiot standing in a brightly lighted room, in broad daylight, first thing in the morning (when I exercise) trying to be all sexyish... I just wanted to laugh, but ya get used to it eventually.

does it require a pole?
and what about space wise?... I only have a small room at my student flat... anyone can recommend any exercise that doesn't require much space?

nope, no pole required. I have the entire set (i think keri does too) disk 1 is intro...a short little routine, nothing much. disk 2 is the workout routine thingie (no striptease). disk 3 is advanced striptease (need: chair, tie, hat). disk 4 lapdance (need: chair). and disk 5 is a hiphop routine not really a striptease either.

I have to admit, they are pretty fun.

I'd recommend, if you want a good cardio bit disk two and five, the hiphop routine involves lots of movement. If you want tonig, pop in those belly dance tapes, the stretching and holding stuff you do is great for the core, and makes you move differently.

After I started the bellydance, I have this really graceful, straight without looking like I have a stick up my ass gait, I love it. And then I trip over a rock and end up in a crumple on a ground, but I fall GRACEFULLY.

^yeah, i know what you mean. i have the goddess bellydance tape. the first time i did it, my arms felt like they were going to fall off after a couple minutes (i suffered through it) and after a couple days my abdomen was SOOOOOO sore. Well worth it though. Made me feel amazing. I have onDemand w/comcast and have been trying out some of the fitness things on there...very fun! I highly recommend it for a great variety of options.

I have found that Mari Winsor Pilates is the easiest and most effective way to tone and elongate muscles. It's not even that hard and you get a great workout after doing the accelerate body sculpting dvd. She also has dvds which focus on abs scultping and buns and thighs. Doing pilates is very relaxing and doesn't even feel like work, and Winsor pilates is the best pilates method out there. Tons of celebrities use it, so i would recommend it for fast results and keeping the weight off. After doing it for two weeks about 5 times a week, you will notice a difference in your body! good luck!!

YES, I just got these and they are cheap and GREAT! I take a Pilates class but sometimes I can't make it and I do these instead and they have a lot of the same moves. They have beginner, intermediate & advanced sections on the DVD. And your muscles will BURN - especially the Core Workout ones.

8 Minute Pilates & Core Workout DVDs

I also do Mari Winsor's pilates, but I do the fat burning workout. I think its easy for me, but my roomate tried it and she doesn't like it. She think its too much work and its tiring, but I think its relaxing. The 45 min workout is very tiring tho, but it burns the calories!

I love pilates sculpt, which is a combo pilates weight workout. It's 45 minutes but easily broken down into two 20min workouts. Even my husband does it and loves it.
