STOTT pilates VS. WINSOR pilates

Hey all!

I noticed that a lot of you guys have mentioned that WINSOR pilates is what you do, and I only saw one person mention STOTT pilates...

I was just wondering what the big difference is between the two, or if there's any difference at all!

TIA!

I've never tried Stott pilates. This is the first time I've heard of the brand. So I can't comment on the difference, but I swear by Winsor pilates. It's definitely more advanced than some of the other pilates dvds. You will start seeing results really fast and thanks to my experience with them, I find most of the pilates classes I attended to be quite easy to follow and do well in them.

carol: Is WINSOR difficult? I've never done pilates in my life, but I hear it's extremely good for toning and such. I have done hot yoga before... Do you think it's similar?

oops totally forgot about this thread! sorry.

pilates is much more muscle toning than yoga is. Yoga is more balance and mind muscle coordination. Pilates focuses most on your "core" and creating tone and lean muscles.
It's definitely going to be challenging the first time, but you get better and more flexible with each session. That's what it's about, right? If it's easy to start off with, what's the point of doing it?
