Helmet? Help Please!

I'm about to break my blades out. Can anyone tell me which helmet is the best?
As I grow old I'd like to keep my skull intact.

Do you mean ice skates? If you're serious about safety, a hockey helmet is best but a bike helmet is probably okay if it fits well. Make sure to test it by shaking your head "yes" and "no" to see if it is snug.

Sorry, outdoor inline skates.

I have a Protec skate helmet PRO-TEC.NET/SKATE

And that's what I'll get for my boys when they're a bit bigger.

But I use mine for half pipe and ramps/rails, not flat land. You might not want something as sturdy if you're just skating along a sidewalk

That's what I thought at first, and I wrote a whole reply for that, but figured it had to be outdoor skates. I wear a regular bicycle helmet that I bought at Canadian Tire. It is sort of like this. Here's a guide to choosing one for bikes, but it applies to skating as well.

I only inline skate on bike paths though, because despite doing it for years, I still haven't figured out how to stop.
