Running and blisters

I've been getting blisters lately on the toes of my right foot from running. Only the right foot I'm thinking it's about time for new running shoes, could it be from that?

Could be the shoes, or it could be the way you are coming down on your right foot while running. I used to get them on my left foot all the time and I realized I was favoring that foot just a bit; it can make all the difference.

How much wear do your current shoes have?

Well, I didn't start keeping track of my miles until about 3 months ago. In that time, I have about 250. I joined the gym back in October, so for 6 months before that, I wasn't keeping track. I wasn't running as much most of that time, so I'm just assuming that I hit at least 250 in those 6 months. I was kinda wondering if it was because I'm going longer distances now. Before the baby turned 1, I could only leave the kids at the daycare for an hour, now it's two, and M-W-F, I'm running around 8-9 miles/day.

Have you tried Band Aid Blister Blocker? It helps me.

I also re-lace my shoes every time I jog -- everyday now for 2 miles. I know it may seem like common sense, but some people I know just slip on their shoes and go.

I do that, too. My last pair of running shoes before the ones I wear now, I wore out the heel in them from just slipping them on all the time I'll have to check out the blister blocker. I have this huge one on my little toe, I've popped it twice now and it just keeps coming back. And another on the toe next to my big toe, I can't even pop that one b/c I think it's got a callus on top of it

I used to get blisters from new shoes, not old shoes... I only wear sweat-wicking, fitted socks to run, or those double-layered socks.

I *have* considered that maybe I need to get better socks, I probably should.
