| | | shox suck for running from my experience. I have a pair of Puma Alpine Trail that are pretty nice. They are not to heavy and have the kind of traction I am looking for. New Balance, Saucony and Asics all make decent stuff. It really depends on what kind of exercise/running you will be doing and in what locations. Personally the lighter the better for me. Those running shoes with huge heels like shox give me less connection with the ground and it is not really comfortable for me. |

| | | I went running in my Shox for a couple months, and I ended up spraining my ankle from doing so. They may look nice for strutting around town, but they're HORRIBLE for training or running.
I bought my first pair of Asics about a month ago, and my feet feel amazing on the treadmill. I was unsure what pair would be good for my feet (I'm an underpronator, meaning my feet roll outwards slightly when I walk), so I went to RunnersWorld.Com and they matched my feet to the perfect shoe. |

| | | I run quite a bit, which used to make my knees hurt. I tried NB, Nike, Adidas, and Asics, none of which really worked for me. I've been running in Brooks for the last couple years, and LOVE them. I think it's different for everyone though.
Oh, I forgot to mention I pronate. I went to Runners World in person, and they picked out the Brooks for me after looking at my feet, and watching me walk.

| | If you can find a place that puts you on a treadmill to see if you are a overpronator or not that would be the best. Then they can show you shoes that have more stability or less and then you can then get a shoe that will work for you and what your feet do I am an overpronator and Brooks and Mizunos have been the best shoes for stability for me.

| | I say try out the Nike Free 7.0 shoes. The most comfy I have ever owned, and I've amassed quite a collection from a year as an endorser. They truly feel like air and are so lightweight and breathable. I run, jog, and do a gym workout and have no complaints with these shoes. I suggest going a half size up though as Nike Free's are meant to be a bit loose.
Good luck finding your perfect shoe!

| | | I used to run track in high school, and also ran a marathon in college. I don't really remember the exact type of shoes I wore, But I love adiddas, and asic shoes.
Also, if you're going to be running a lot, I would say spend some money to buy insoles. They are a life saver. I don't know about now, but back a couple years ago, a lot of shoes came with crappy insoles. |

| | | I hate shin splints and I have them right now. I haven't been running in years. And then on monday I was mad about something and I went running to feel better. I only rain for 25 minutes and I didn't even run the whole time. My shins hurt so bad. Do you guys think it is the shoes? They are just some cheapo adidas from costco. I havent replaced them in a while. I figured since I only used them on the eliptical I wouldn't need to..I liked running on Monday and I think I want to get into the habit of it.

Did you remember to stretch properly before hand? That could be the cause, besides needing new sneakers.

| | | I LOVE Salomon because my feet are little wider in the foot box and they always fit perfect. I have tried Nike, Aididas, Saucony, ect- and hands down Salomon have always been the best.
Salomon look sweet too which is is a nice benefit.... |

| | | here is 15% code to runner warehouse Oops forgot part- I prefer Salomon as well because I over pronate, and have very low arches. (I suspect from wearing flat footed skate shoes the majority of my life)
Anyway Salomon's are very light, and have good traction for road or trails.
Here is a good website to help you best figure out your needs- based upon arch support needs, pronation problems ect. They carry Salomon, Saucony, Mizuno, and many more- http://www.runningwarehouse.com/desc...l?from=shopzil
Also here is a 15% coupon code off one pair of running shoes. If it doesn't work I have another.

| | | i swear by north face shoes for trail running - they fit my feet really well
i also have had good pairs of new balance and saucony
nike absolutely does NOT work for my feet
i think you should head to a running store to get your feet evaluated and fitted in some of these brands af runners have recommended. unfortunately, you never really know how a pair will work out until you've put some miles on them. after that, you know what brand/style to keep going back to.

Nike or other smaller fits sometimes bunch my feet up too much.

| | my feet swear by adidas. I have adidas trail runners.. and regular ones and they are sooo comfy. I run on city streets (suburbs? idk, sidewalks) and my elliptical... I also wear my non-trail runners to work (large music venue) and my feet love me at the end of the day
But like others have said, you really wont know until you try them on. I tried on about 80 pairs of shoes between five stores before I found a pair I liked. |

I never understood why they didn't at least make them gray instead of white since they turn gray after the first time you wear them outside anyhow. |

| | ^ I know right? My husband hates shoe shopping with me. But I need my running shoes to be COMFY and if I just pick the first pair I find, I'll end up with unhappy feet I also have really high arches (thanks ballet) and I hate buying inserts, so I try and find shoes that already have a good amount of arch support and fit my narrow feet, too. |

| | I wear Saucony's when I go running. They have excellent arch support and are cushony and I don't ever have knee or shin pain. AND they come in all colors of the rainbow so you can mix and match and not be bored with white and the basic shoe colors.
I love running. The best cardio besides swimming! |
