| | | Jillian Michaels' 30 day shred I just got this DVD, and did workout 1. Boy I am exhausted and my neck hurts, lol!
Has anyone else tried this? Does it work?
I'm hoping this thread will make me want to continue and not give up after a week since I gained like 5-6lbs because of Christmas

| | I haven't tried it and i don't think i will ...i got the p90x and got bored (and annoyed) after 4 weeks . IMO working out must be a constancy thing, not a 30 or 90 days phase, otherwise results wont be permanent nor will health improvement be
AlsoI think you should have some previous training backround before starting these workouts, i do not think your neck is supposed to hurt at all
Anyway, good luck and don't forget the before and after pics!

| | | yes thats what my friend says haha!
thats true that it should be a constancy thing, unfortunately i am not able to do that because of many factors.

| | i have been doing it for 24 days!
i haven't seen drastic results, but my clothes are fitting better & that makes me happy. i got tired of the gym & needed something to mix up my workout. once i'm done my 30 days, i will probably go back to my normal 4 x a week at the gym routine & maybe do a shred workout periodically. it's only 20 mins, but even on 3 level, it's exhausting. good luck! |

| | | I have it and plan to start it this week. I will do the 30 minute DVD twice at a time, though, as the 30-minutes doesn't cut it for me. I love Jillian Michaels and its a circuit type workout which does give great results when you stick with it. Even the easiest version is hard as hell!!

| | | i just started this 2 days ago. I seriously thought I was "in shape", but this workout is kicking my a**!
Silly me, I thought the Level 1 was too easy, so on day 2, I started with Level 2 - I was beat! Today, everything hurts!
Good luck to everyone doing this, stick with it!

| | This video is awesome! I did it over the summer. But a word to the wise: it is really hard on your knees. It says you are supposed to do it 30 consecutive days but I found that doing that really affected my knees, badly. I would do it every other day. Other than that it really tones! Good Luck!

| | Bumping up this thread because I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this.
Also, how much room do you need to do the workouts? My living room is pretty tiny

I'm on my 4th day and loving this workout so far. It is kicking my butt and I'm still pretty sore but able to work through it. My goal is to do the workout at least 6 times per week. My boyfriend also tried it last night and really liked it, and it even kicked HIS butt!
Even though its a bit preliminary to be counting on results from this, I've already lost 2 lbs and feel TONS more energetic To be fair, I did also cut out sugar , and am eating a really good whole foods diet.

| | | TBH I only made it til Day 10, since it was too exhausting for me to do next to my schoolwork. I will probably start with this or P90X when I have time in my summer vacations ;)
It really goes to the knees though :S

| | | It kicks my ass everytime I do it, if I can even get through the whole workout. LOL. Tones my arms/back the most, I've noticed. But it does get boring with there only being three different levels. But it goes by so fast, you barely notice you're bored until you're done. |

| | | I did this for about 2 weeks 4-5 days a weeks and didn't see or feel any different. I am currently running on my treadmill and outside because my endurance is horrible. I like the 30 day shred but I never did the 2 or 3rd level (my BF said I shouldn't advance until I was able to do level 1 easily, and that never came).
I will probably do the shred again along with running because I feel like my endurance has improved over the last month or so. I can finally run 2 miles without stopping both on the treadmill and outside. I will continue to post here! Good luck everyone!!

| | | ^Same here. I think in order to "shred" significantly in 30-days, you have to do 1, 2, and 3 back to back at least 3 days a week. I skipped around to level 2 and 3 and they weren't so much more difficult, just different. I liked 2 the best.

| | just to bump this up since I started this tonight! I started off w/ level 1. It did make me feel like I wanted to die at one point but that feeling passed quickly and I was able to complete all 27 min or so w/ out stopping at all. I think this is a good work out to use as an add on b/c I don't really see myself losing weight with just this. I'll probably try to do 30 min of treadmill + this everyday.. after that.. I'm quitting everything to start Insanity!
anyone else on this still?

| | | I did it. I still do it on days when I'm looking for a really quick workout, since it covers so much ground in 20 minutes.
The pain of the first week does subside, and I found it really gratifying to be able to see myself improve and get through the workouts better (still hate the "jumping lunges" though).
I didn't lose any weight, but I do think I toned my upper body.
I'm guessing that the people who lose 20 lbs in a month, or whatever the claim is, are people who aren't exercising at all before starting. Otherwise, 20 min/day is probably not a huge jump for people.
I kind of want to try P90X but I'm scared I won't be able to make it through hour + workouts if they are equally intense. So far I've just stuck to running/stair stepper/occasional 30 day shred. |

| | I might have to try this, I wanted to try the P90X but there's no way in hell I'll EVER have an uninterrupted hour to do it. 20 mins is more like the free time I get

| | | I do 3 and then 2 in succession, so it gives me an hour workout - I just skip the warmup for 2 since I am already warmed up.
The 20lb requires you to follow her diet plan and do the DVD ( section 1, 2 or 3) every day. Ultimately, to lose weight, you have to change your diet. The exercise just helps you to get the shape that you want as you lose.
