Kerastase Bain Satin shampoo & Lait Vital conditioner Because my hair is so fried from years of straightening, I took the plunge and got the Kerastase Bain Satin 1 shampoo & the Lait Vital conditioner. Very expensive but results are amazing. For the 34 fl oz shampoo, it was $98 if I remember it correctly. The conditioner came in a smaller 6.8 fl oz tube and was priced at $48 or so. I got them 20% off at Planet Beauty. BAIN SATIN 1 Shampoo Texture : :) Pearly white in color and smooth texture and lathers into a light foam, not too thick not too light. Price : :( Very expensive. Scent : :) Fairly light. Performance : :) Leaves the hair clean, shiny and more manageable. I have an oily scalp but dry and damaged hair so this shampoo works great for me. If you have dry scalp and damaged hair, I assume you need to use Bain Satin 2 or 3 shampoo. I give it 5 stars. LAIT VITAL Conditioner Texture: :) Thicker than the shampoo but goes on very, very light. Cannot feel much in your hair but it works for me since I have an oily scalp. Price : :( Very expensive Scent : :blink Stronger than the shampoo but it is ok. Performance : :) Works great for my oily scalp. Keeps my hair manageable and easy to straighten. Less frizz and tangle. I give it 4.5 stars only because it is very, very light. |
just wanted to post that if you have damaged hair it is recommened that you use bain satin 2 or 3 because 1 is very light and not ment for very damaged hair. |
^ You are probably right about that. I tried the Bain Satin 1 only because I cut off about 12 inches or more of my damaged hair and only a tiny area around the bang remains. I did not want to aggravate my oily scalp, if you know what I mean. :magwink I tend to get really itchy on my scalp if I use something too rich. :ashamed |

the bain satin line is very very light all around. if you were using the masks (maqueintense SP?) that would probably be too heavy you know they just came out with a shampoo for an oily scalp and sensitised ends :) |
^ Really? Which one is it? So after I use up this 34 oz jug, I can buy it. :devil |

white bottles w/ grey lids ... it was just released a week ago. |
Thanks. I will get them once I finish my big jug of Bain Satin. :D |
I just check the Kerastase website and they had the shampoo! It is called Bain Divalent, is it correct? It had the salicylic acid as one of the ingridient. Hmmm... I used to use shampoo called T-sal following doctor recommendation for dandruff which had 5% salicylic acid. The only thing about that was my hair was soft and smooth the day I wash and then the next day my scalp got even oilier. I stopped using it because of it. :( I wonder if this new one from Kerastase would do the same to my scalp. |
I don't know ... i don't have an oily scalp so i have no way to use it if i can get ahold of a sample for you i will go ahead and send it to you ... i'll have to see what i can find :D |
