:bigeyes Just saw this today, they already have 18 , and are expecting again :eyebug I cannot even begin to imagine... the house, the full sized bus to go anywhere, stocking that much food, sorting socks.... I'm amazed :yes :headspin, and out of all of them, there are only 2 sets of twins.

ETA: NVM just saw a post in the celeb section :smack I hadn't heard of them before, had no idea they were well known /sigh

danakiller 09-01-2009 05:34 PM

i can't stand that family.

bmskains 09-01-2009 05:45 PM

Hey...they're better than Jon & Kate. They actually seem to care more about their children than themselves...

Just my opinion though:whistle

Mikeylikes29 09-02-2009 01:43 AM

Hope those kids are smart because I don't see the parents able to help much for college :(

nstyle 09-07-2009 06:28 PM

:bigeyes That's way too many kids to provide for!

doesn't matter how smart the girls are--they'll get married off right after high school anyway :shake

To each their own, but I have one (kid, that is) and a full time job, and I have no time for anything else. Maybe I severely lack time mamnagement skills.

I saw this show once and that was it for me. They seemed like well-mannered kids though.
The parents seem nice, too. I liked it. Huge house. I just didn't like the bus but I laughed when I saw that's the only thing they could fit in as a family. So sad.
She needs to tie her tubes or he needs to get snipped, like now.

ShakeMySmirnoff 09-17-2009 11:19 PM

do we really need anymore children in this world?

maybelater1089 09-18-2009 01:02 AM

^^^ this, but from what ive seen, atleast this couple can provide for their family. they seem to have the finances to take care of them and discipline their kids appropriately, so kudos to them i guess...

one thing that does make me upset is seeing such a large family who CANT provide sufficiently for their family.. there is a family here where i live that have 16 KIDS (assuming they havent had more since they hit the papers)!!! one income household, father makes a good amount, but definitely not enough to support a family of 18! the entire family lived in a 2,000 square foot house! rooms were stacked with bunk beds upon bunk beds! a lot of the kids were NOT very well mannered and the family required much assistance in many areas. i've had the privilege of seeing this family in action IRL, and was thoroughly annoyed by their behavior in public... it is just a shame to see this...

I can hardly get my head around the thought of bearing & raising 19 kids :bigeyes

I'm sorry, but I fucking hate comments like that. :shake Yes, having 19 children is excessive, and I'm not even going to touch how I feel about the Duggars, but really. I am fully aware of the many children who are orphaned, abandoned, abused, etc., and while it literally makes me want to puke thinking about those unfortunate children, I don't feel one iota guilty for having my six children. :thumbsup

 whoa, I missed this the first time. PC, what do you mean by this? Is she supposed to feel guilty for having a baby? Please clarify. :o

hikingling 09-24-2009 08:15 AM

Yes, and some people shouldn't breed.
Period.
:whistle

Charlotte 09-24-2009 10:40 AM

Actually there are some countries where the powers that be are worried about declining birth rates, Russia and Germany just off the top of my head.

I think your question should be "Does the world really need any more Duggars" and the answer would be a resounding NO.

Yes, please.

PC, do you really need another, for lack of a better word, "hater" on this forum?

I was trying to make shakeymycheapvodka's comment more lighthearded.

lawgal2002 09-24-2009 12:55 PM

As far as the Duggars, yes, IMO 19 kids is a little much. However, their children are raised with love and morals. They are taught about kindness and goodness--how to SPREAD GOODNESS.

Yes, their Church is creepy to me and borderline extreme, but they are GOOD people. They don't live off the government, aren't on medicaid or welfare. All their kids get a good education. What's the problem with that?

People like the Duggars aren't the problem--the problem is when you have crack heads and meth heads breeding like rabbits in housing projects. I have clients who have 12 children that are all in DHR custody. At least the Duggars provide a GOOD life for their children.

As for the comment directed at Jasmin, WTF was meant by that? Because she is young, she shouldn't be a mother? Please, Pianochica, enlighten us with your brilliant stereotypical statistics.:roll

Dojoqueen 09-24-2009 12:56 PM

^ VERY well said, Liz. I couldn't have summed up the Duggar situation better myself. :thumbsup

asako 09-24-2009 12:57 PM
