Talking My dry journal (Helmut Lang raw selvedge). Update 3/5/10

Here it is! My first dry denim. I'll try to get some fit pics once I can get into the jean. It's stiff as a rock.

1/14/10

UPDATE: 3/5/10

About two months and two weeks now. The jean is turning out beautifully. I wear this pair basically to work everyday!

Okay. Here are some fit pics. First day of wear. Took me a while to get in the jean and its uncomfortable as hell, hahah. Does all dry denim feel like stiff cardboard?

We'll see how this pair goes in a month from now.

Overall the fit looks good, but I don't like the massive cuff. If you want them shorter, just hem them or leave them as is and stack.

Or hem up some and cuff (or stack) if you're concerned about shrinkage when you wash.

I totally agree though, that fit is awesome on you!

may I suggest a soak before you wear them? If you feel that they are too long you it that is and provided that they aren't sanforized.

Jesus. 36 inches? I think that's a bit ridiculous.

To each their own, but stacking tends to work and look very well on a pair of raw denim.

If they make a 27 I would suggest sizing down

I agreed. I like the stacking effect. Kind of like the Dior Homme dry denim. Looks pretty cool.

What's the cut for these? It looks like a straight leg (relaxed?) to me, but I don't really know.

I agree with this for stacking. I think a slimmer fit and stacking complement each other better.

edit: Fit still looks good without sizing down though. Any idea how much these stretch?

The cut is straight leg. And I have no idea how much this jean will stretch. It is my first dry denim after all. I have no experience in this category.

too much stacking isn't always good. I'd love to see a picture of them stacked.

Here are a few pics with stacking. What do you guys think? Too much stacking at the bottom?

Stacking looks better than the cuffs in my opinion. Once they soften up a bit they will look great.

I agree with the other 2, stacking looks better than the cuffs.

Thanks Raoul. Right now, I kind of don't like them stack because the denim is super stiff and quite uncomfortable. But I'll switch it up everyday, cuff and stack LOL. Hopefully, the bottom will soften up a lil' bit so I can stack the jean more than cuff.

Just stack everyday... Eventually, the denim softens up a bit and the stacks flatten out.
