The first one is real. The second's pictures are of terrible quality and I cannot comfirm completely. Request better photos, particularly of the rear tags and the selvage interior, or just bid on the first.

I have to ask, is this your first pair of dry denim jeans? I ask because I think it important that you know these Levi's you are bidding on are not sanforized and will shrink a great deal after the first wash. Make sure that you are buying a pair with ample room for strinking.

The price he is charging seems reasonable enough considering how high vintage Levi's can run. Though I personally would never consider them. No real interest. But if it's what you are looking for, then best of luck to you.

Sanforizing is basically a process done to the denim material before construction to limit the total amount of shrink to a projected 1% if not less. Most dry denim companies use this process on their material, and it doesn't affect the wash. It is not the equivalent of pre-washing/pre-shrinking.

As for how to tell whether or not a pair of jeans is sanforized, the company will usually make some effort to let you know on the garment itself. Nudie, for example, places shrinking information on their inside pocket. If you are looking at a pair of dry jeans, and the projected shrinkage is stated to be 3% or less, you are probably looking at a sanforized pair. If you have any doubts, just ask an associate/seller, or post a question on here.
