Bye bye Bjorn.

I know there don't seem to be very many Nudie fans here, much less nudie loyalists, but has anyone noticed that according to the new fit guide, the Baggy Bjorn has been discontinued from the nudie line? Seems as though they are going in a slightly more trendy direction. Disappointing.

I am not that disappointed. Baggy denim doesn't break in as well IMO.

Baggy Bjorn sucks indeed.

They need to make Olas in RRDS denim and bring back the FG in RRDS denim.

My husband likes my drys so much, he wants a pair. Now I am on the hunt for a pair of rrds, on sale of course. He's a size 31 in diesel. Should I get a 30 in Nudies? TIA

No.

Lady Anvil, if you buy a pair of RRDS here in NA it will be more expensive than usual. If you buy it from cultizm.com or kitchener.ch you'll pay 175-200 bucks instead of $275.

Check denimbaronline since they're having a sale. They don't have RRDS but they have SSDS.

I am just not very happy with Nudie's current line-up, now offering almost exclusively thin-modestly or relaxed tapered cuts. Only the Bootcut Ola and the Regular Alf deviate, and there has been talk that the Ola might suffer a similar fate as the Baggy Bjorn, purely due to sales (or lack of).

Now a part of me finds this understandable. Why should a company continue the expensive manufacturing of a fit that is unpopular and catching dust on shelves, sapping profit? But at the same time, I am finding Nudie's more recent cuts to be...uncharacteristically trendy. Too many slim fits (High Kai anyone?), too many tapered hems, and the swimmier fits all seem to be minor variants of the same cut (Average Joe, Even Steven, Straight Sven). I am a bootcut fanatic myself, and the thought of Nudie botching the Ola leaves me shaking my head.

Again, it makes sense from an industrial/bussiness perspective, but honestly, I thought Nudie was a bit more that. *pouts*

You mean $$$$$.

*Shrug* Oh well, not much argument against that logic in the industry.

Yup... sizing down one from mens diesel sizing should be about right... it may be slightly tight at first, but the RRDS stretches A LOT!

And I don't agree with Nudie only looking at the bottom line... they are a Swedish company very loyal to their HUGE Swedish following and here you just don't see people in bootcut or baggy jeans, its all about tapered and straight/tight legs...

Are the RRDS that much better with the fade patterns than slim jim? I don't see much said about the slim jim style. And their price is a lot lower.

Selvage Olas would be awesome, flame selvage would be even cooler but I don't think either is very likely

Especially when you consider that the Bootcut Ola is not exactly one of Nudies most popular cuts anymore (if it ever was). Pity really.

I don't get why, its their only slim bootcut which seems like it would be a popular style. I guess I better get a pair while I still can

Lady Anvil:
the RRDS shouldn't get better wear than the slim jim at all, most likely the other way around because the slim jim will be a much tighter fit... Slim Jim Dry Japan is probably one of the easiest nudies to break in...

They never have anything with a 34 inch inseam, which sucks because kitchener doesn't seem to have them either. Guess I'll have to get ralfs if I want nudies

The Nudies came and they fit him just right, a little tight. Thanks for the fit advice!! I may sneek in a couple pictures in the nudies thread. I don't think anyone else has the organic.

Try calling up Denimbar. They'll go and hunt down those jeans for you, and even measure those darn things on the spot I love them.
