| | | About time! (Nudie Olas = Mines) Hey there guys. I know we have a perfectly good Nudies thread at the moment, but I felt the need to give these new olas a quick and personal introduction. Largely because I had been waiting so damn long to get a pair. 30x34, thought that was a pretty common-place size (casts a contempuous glare in the general direction of Barney's Co-op, Atrium off Broadway, you know who you are... ).
They came in today, time documented: 10:57. I practically pounced on the USPS guy as he came in the door.
Bootcut olas. Wearing for.... 31 minutes. They are tighter than I imagined and I did not size down. I understand the concern in regards to stretching and whatnot, but seriously, in my actual size, my thighs barely fit through. And I am not, as these pictures so painfully depict, a very large guy. People on the mynudies forums, weighing 190 and slipping into Slim jims size 28 (27?! ) kudos to you, for you redefine the meaning of twig.
They fit tighter than any jeans I have ever owned, and are a bit uncomfortable at the moment. I look forward to them bagging up in the future (part of the reason I like TR's, you can wear them looser, but well fitted). But overall, I am loving them. When they grow up a bit, I'll join the other ranks in the nudie evolution forum. Until then, we'll work with what we have in front of us.
And sorry for the fugly feet. I forgot to shod them before taking pictures, so just keep locked on the upper 75% of the picture to avoid unnessesary damage to your eyes.

| | I was a bit surprised however. The bootcut ola's denim feels alot thinner/lighter and less stiff than the RRDS that I tried on at Atrium. I wonder if that will affect the fade at all?
*Shrug* eh, not really a problem.

| | | Congrats! Be really patient with these since they're really hard to break in and it takes a loong time.
I have a size 30 in these as well and I sized down 2! hahaha so they fit like skinnies on me right now.
Where did you buy it? Denimbar is having a sale on alot of stuff and Olas are $114 + shipping.

| | Hey advan, I got these from revolveclothing.com, I used my first time buyer coupon. People usually rule against using it for single items, but I have no intention of wearing, much less buying any new jeans now that I finally got the Nudies I have been hunting for. These will probably be the only ones I use for a long while.
I made this shot especially for my mynudies.com intro thread and gallery, but I figured I would throw it in here anyway. Me, in the nudie.
thanks for the comments guys!

| | | sweet pic! and yes, I think the denim weights may be slightly different, check the mynudies forum to be sure, they are nudie gods over there... but you'll still get great wear from those!

| | | im planning to buy some nudies round sept or august...but now that i heard about the special at denimbar i might order some tonight...questions though
right now i have some RRDS ive been wearing since march, and i sized down 1, at first they were tight and a bit uncomfortable, now theyre perfect
should i size down in BO? Note i like a slim fit, but not tight.
Is the leg opening smaller on BO's than on RR's?
I usually wear 32 in length, will 32's in BO's be too short since they are slimmer?
thanks.

| | | Hey there. I'm new to the whole nudies thing, so I can't anwser any RR vs. BO questions, but I can tell you about the fit. The fit is pretty tight in the thighs, mind you, I did not size down at all and things were still fairly tight, this is largely due to the slim cut. It's a true bootcut, but runs lowish on the waist, the opening is not too pronounced, just a slight widening from 8 or so inches at the knee, to 9 at the hem.
I think I would recommend sizing up to 34 in Length, but that could just be me being a bit paranoid. I have heard too many varying shrinkage stories (anywhere from 1/4 of an inch, to a jean-ruining 3 full inches). Go with what makes you comfortable.
As for sizing up, that one I will leave up to you. The slim cut of the BO is, I would think, more comparable to a slim Jim than a Regular Alf. Like I said, I stuck with my true size and they were still quite tight on the thighs. But Olas are also known to stretch a bit.

| | The question of whether or not to size down would really be a matter of your personal taste, and how well you know your anatomy. If you know you have horse calves and thighs, I would recommend either sticking with your actual size or sizing down one. Ola's are far less swimmy a fit than the Alfs, I tried on a pair of RRDS in New York before I ordered these Olas. If you say your Alfs were tight after sizing down once, I would not recommend anything more so on the Olas.
Good luck with it though. The Olas are easily the best bootcut I have ever worn (sorry Joey ) and you'll love them!

| | Be reminded that this is a really old thread. My Olas are now over two months old, without wash of course.
