Is ironing dry denim ok?

I own a pair of dry denim, selvedge jeans, that have been lying in the wardrobe virtually for two years (wore them only a few times when I bought them). Pants were neatly folded, lying under other clothes, so unfortunately unwanted creases had to set in. This is how it looks:

Now I want to take them out and finally start wearing. Would you iron them and would it help any? Or you wouldn't even give a damn about creases :-)?
