Ralph Lauren Black Label Selvedge Jeans - authenticity check

Hello guys,

I'm not so much into jeans yet, so I would like to ask you to check the authenticity of these jeans:

Could also let me know some feedback about these pants?

I would very appreciate if you could help me ASAP.

Thanks very much,
Peter

I think that it is fake because Polo Ralph Lauren and Ralph Lauren Black Label are different sub brands.

You can confirm from the website though.

I am 90% sure, but not 100% sure.

Let others confirm.

Where did you buy it from? And for how much?

It is very unlikely for you to get a BL for less than $100-150 or so, no matter what the kind of sale it is, at least imo. Not 100% sure. Assuming 100% brand new and not S2D/seconds.

And retail is usually around $250-400 or more.

The pants are to be bought on eBay. The price is 60GBP (around 95USD) - it is mentioned that the retail on these was 197 GBP.
I also feel that sth might be wrong with them, but have no experience with RL.

My problem is that when I try to google the numbers from the label I cannot find anything (I'm a sneakers collector and it works perfectly when you check sneakers - however, not sure if you can use it in case of jeans as well).

Thanks for the first opinion, looking forward to having any other thoughts on these.

Peter

i heard from somewhere that the selvedge line cannot be reproduced. So if the selvedge line looks fine then i'll go with real

Thanks for that - now the question is if the selvedge on these looks good . That's the only photo that I have and from this one it looks fine - at least for me.

The seller has 330 positive opinions and no negatives nor neutrals, and was already selling some designers stuff, so hope these are OK as well.

The biggest give away is that PRL and RL BL are different lines and BL shouldn't have Polo mentioned, I guess.

Also, for ebay UK, to get something at one third the price is fishy.

Can you post a link to the seller's feedback?

Thanks guys.

Yes it can - modern looms can be programmed to make selvedge fabric, and different machines can be used to secondarily close the open edge on non-selvedge fabrics to give that finished appearance.

Also selvedge does not indicate quality - very average fabric with finished edges can be bought cheaply from China, Turkey, etc

How can he sell n number of things from Paul Smith at $10-20. It is unlikely that they are authentic.

Even used stuff doesn't sell so cheap.

And considering that this jeans is goofed up, I guess his other stuff should be too.

Price is not always relevant to authenticity.

Please discontinue doing authenticity checks. You do not know how to properly authenticate and you have already been asked to stop before.

OK guys, thanks for all your feedback.

Maybe somebody else know is 100% sure about these?

I've go the sellers assurance that the jeans are 100% original, so I hope that even if I buy them and they turn out to be fakes I can try to talk with eBay about it. But would prefer to be sure before buying.

Thanks once again,
Peter
