| | | this may be a dumb question... So, I hadn't actually heard of raw denim until last week when I bought a pair of R&R VB crowns that I was told on this forum were raw or unwashed, because they were supposed to be a very light LA wash but I found them marked irregular, and they are very dark (see pic below- though they are darker than that in person)...well anyway, I was wondering if I should/could do this process of wearing without washing, etc (everything I've read in this section) on rock & republics, and whether over time the same gorgeous fading will happen to them. Are there any suggestions aside from what is in the sticky? Also, what happens if I do wash them?
I apologize if these are obvious or lame questions- I'm pretty new to designer denim, and this seems like a really cool project, but I want to make sure I have it right before terrorizing my friends with unwashed jeans for years! Thanks!

| | | uhmm I don't know much about raw denim, but I think there's something about the jeans dye that they don't completely "rinse off"? which is why if you wear the jeans over time in the sun, without washing, etc, the dye sinks into the fabric more and the excess/parts that get worn in rubs off thereby creating the creases and fading? I don't think R&R is made like that....I could be completely wrong though lol

| | Hmm, so maybe they were just mis-labeled. Well, I love them nonetheless! Thanks

| | | well I know R&R has a wash named raw, but I am pretty sure it is not actually raw if those are it. |

| | oops i missed that part....raw is just the wash name at least, that's what I think. I'm pretty sure R&R doesn't make raw denim?

| | | the R&R raw wash is a one rinse that is treated with resin i think so that the color will stay.
If it was raw denim you'd know, your hands would be a bit blue if you rubbed them on the jeans while they were wet.
