Please Authenticate Nudie Jeans (pic heavy)

Hey, I bought these a couple of days ago on the internet. I wore them once and had I didn't really have any doubt about their authenticity, however, after reading a few posts here I saw that counterfeiters can make really good fakes...now I'm starting to wonder. A few things regarding the back pockets swirls (not perfect), rivets (silver), and the tags. Can you please help me??

Those look real to me, but don't take my word on it, I'm not a Nudie expert!

Though, what consolation I can offer you, is that selvedge denim requires a different weave and manufacturing process altogether. If you bought fakes, you would instantly recognize it because the outside seam would not be self-edged. It's an expensive process, and I honestly don't think that anyone with that much money would be set on producing fakes... they could start their own line of designer denim.

That's my two cents, at least. Hope that helps

Hmmm people say that Nudies except for the Lab Line should have copper rivets whereas yours are silver.

So I still don't know what to speculate whether these are real/fake.

I just checked my Nudies Average Joes Dry heavy.

I don't know if there are different ones but the white tag in your pic I believe should not be there. Mine was under the black tag(the long one). So I'm guessing yours might be fake imo.

there are two things with your pair which should be alerted to:
1. silver rivets
2. the black font on your tag.

As I understand, Nudie jeans uses pure copper rivets on every line except LAB (and some people say organic's may display silver rivets which I cannot confirm). As your pair is Average Joe Dry Heavy, this is an area of concern.
Secondly, the 'Nudie' logo on the right back pocket suggests an older stock model. That's fine. But it would lead me to imagine that the inside tag to also be akin to the older models, which look like this:

Yours is plain black, which is the first i've ever seen.

Food for thought.

Thanks, this is concerning me now...I don't know what to think.

The jeans themselves are so well made in every aspect (the stitching is straight and evenly spaced, the correct sizing of the pockets and their placement, the cut, the material [although I don't know how the material compares to real ones, but they feel like real high quality and they bleed like the booklet says they should, there are no streaks], and even the swirls, which were a concern to me are very well done, now that I looked at a bunch of real Nudies, not all the swirls are totally perfect) so I don't understand why they would make a tag different then an original, when that would be the easiest thing to fake, heck I can make an original looking Nudie tag on my Photoshop or Illustrator! This is perplexing to me. If these are fake then they are VERY well done. The people who did it might as well start producing their own jeans with this kind of quality and workmanship.

Thanks to both of you for the input! In the meantime I'm wearing them, but I don't want to waste my time wearing them if they are fake!!

Is there anyone else who can confirm? Are these real or fake??

Rivets aside, the jeans look pretty real to me. But just another non-expert chiming in.

Where/who exactly did you buy the pair off of? This might be the first indication of whether the jeans are fake or not.

Anyways, Nudies do have a certain quality to the denim, and from the pics it looks pretty darn authentic to me, and also the hem is stitched identically to my Nudie Thin Finn Dry Stretch..but again, I'm no expert. :X

Good luck!

Yeah, everything on the internet is kinda sketchy in my eyes, unless you go to the companies website and order there. So, I got them on ebay for $40. The name of the seller is house of trends. They had a good feedback record so I figured I'd give it a try. The only suspicious thing was that all the photos were stock. I told myself if I get screwed then so be it, its worth the risk of getting an almost $200 pair of jeans for $40.

It was also weird because some of the auctions for the same jeans started at a high price (like around $100) and some started at a low price.

Has anyone heard of this seller?

For $40 you got a good deal one way or another. That is good quality denim!

If you're really interested, perhaps you could email Nudie those photos and see if they would reply with authentication information? It's worth a shot... if they can't tell a fake from a real, I'd watch out

@ Jeff: Thanks! Yeah me too! I got a good deal, which in part, was the reason why I thought they might be fake.

@ leifer: Thats what I was thinking, even if they were fake, its still a pretty good deal on great quality jeans. So does Nudie really do that? It IS worth a shot. I think I will just for my piece of mind.

Thanks again to everyone! This forum rocks!!!

I recently purchased 2 pairs of nudies from a local seller. Slim Jim Organic and Thin Fin Dry Stretch. On both pairs they have copper rivets. I have attached some pics for comparison.
