This might probably be the stupidest post anyone has ever read, but I washed my average joe nudies just a few days of wear, but it barely faded but lost its starchy feeling.
I was trying to shrink them becasue they were too baggy and wide on me but turns out it didn't shrink much, and than it stretched right back out.

I'm thinking of just hemming them slimmer, so it'll look like a slim jim kind of fit but I don't know if this will be a good idea or not considering raw denim is unpredictable..thoughts?

^ Sounds to me like the denim is sanforised (sorry, I have no knowledge about Nudies), and if you wanted to play around with the cut, it would be easier & more predictable than it's unsanforised counter parts.

Personally, though, I'd just buy a pair in the cut of my liking. It's generally the tailors' that can be unpredictable, and your tailor may not be able to produce the original stitchings and construction on your jeans.

They are sanforised. I don't know much about the fit on AJ but people do get their jeans altered successfully so it may work. I'm a big fan of just buying the fit you're looking for in the first place though. No guesswork needed.
