| | | Nudie Questions! I am wondering how much to size down when buying raw denim? I am usually a 26 in jeans, about a 14-14.5 inch waist (flat measurement) and am looking to get some jeans that would still fit well with wear. Not skin tight, but not super saggy in the butt either. I'm pretty short and averagely built, not too skinny, and am around five two. I don't need to be looking shorter than I am. I've been looking at Nudie's and was wondering...Do you think I should go for Slim Kim's or Long Johns?
Sorry for asking tedious questions but I appreciate any imput.

| | | IMO you should size down as much as possible. The tighter your jeans are the better your wear will be. Plus they will end up stretching out a lot after you wear them. I got a 30/32 in my Straight Sven ... now they are some what baggy. I wish I would of sized down to a 29 or even a 28. |

| | | long johns are a lot stretchier than slim kims, i think you have to size down 2 sizes for long johns. I got my regular size for slim kims and they were tight in the waist when i got them but after i stretched them out, they're a little better. I've had them for 3 months and wear them at least twice a week (i alternate them with my other dry denim) and they're still pretty tight so I wouldn't size that thattttttttt much. hope this helps! |

| | | I would get measurements and get 1-2 sizes (with each size being .5 inches) smaller than what you want the "perfect" size to be.
I really don't know how SSK or TLJ run in terms of size = ??? but I am sure you can find some measurements from the retailer or sometimes they even put the sizes down on some sites. |

| | | I had to size up in my Slim Kims, and they really didn't stretch all that much. Maybe it's just because they fit me differently, since I'm a girl? |

I wish I would of sized down to a 29 or even a 28. | Hi, last week I bought a Nudie Bootcut Ola Dry from revolveclothing.com, I had read before to go one size down on dry denim so thats what I did.
I normally use 32x34 on Diesel (and every other brand). Zathans stretch so much and are so low that when they have a week of wear (after a wash) I have to keep pulling them up when I dont have belt, this last thing plus the dry fact made me buy the 31x34. That turned out to be the worst idea.
These Nudie Ola 31 fit so tight I cant close the fly buttons. They are so tight I think I need a 33 better than a 32. Maybe this cut is more slim I tought it would be, so now I want to buy the the RRDS.
If Diesels say 32 on waist they're actually 33.5 or maybe 34.
Considering that can anyone give me an idea which size of RRDS or Ola I should get???
Thanks for any reply |

| | | When people suggest to size down, it isn't necessarily refering to your diesel size as different brands run differently in sizing. Usually you want to order 1-2 sizes smaller than what you usually need in the waist. So if you regularly need 33.5-34, you want it measuring 32.5-33 across.
From what I have seen, if it isn't possible to get measurements I would go with a 33. 34 if you don't want it as tight. |

| | A lot of people size down so the jeans cannot be buttoned ... after you stretch them out for a while you will be able to button them. Just wear them unbuttoned. Sleep in them if you have to. They will stretch out.
Post a pic of you wearing them and lets see how tight they are. The next pair I do I am going to size down so I cannot button it. My Straight Sven were super tight ... to tight I thought ... now though after almost a year they are baggy I am not happy with the fit anymore! Once I wash them they should shrink a lot though. |

| | | I really think if they cannot be buttoned, then that is too tight unless you want something ultra tight still after the stretch. |

| | | Not every pair of Nudies stretch the same. Vince bought Olas in 28 and it barely stretched in 2 months.
It's a different story when it comes to RRDS though.

| | | advan031,
You're completely right. Nudie uses a number of different types of denim throughout their line. The dry selvage is completely different from say the dry organic Even Steven. Also, the Slim Jim's measure one size larger in the waist than tagged (making it even more challenging). The washed pieces in Nudie's line are usually slightly smaller in the waist than tagged.

| | | I'm thinking of getting Bootcut Ola's, I'm a 30 in Diesel Levan. Should I get a 29 or 28? I'm afraid of 29 ending up baggy, but I'm also afraid of not fitting into 28's. What should I do? |

| | | Nudie SSK experience given... My sizing experience for Nudie SSK:
I would go up one size if you want them really tight, or two if you want them looser. They don't stretch out very much, and they shrink when you wash them. Mine are two sizes up, maybe 3 (what is my real size?!?!?!), and are actually sort of baggy (I hike them up before I take pics ). Before I washed them, I was able to take them off without unzipping/unbuttoning, and I personally think they look good that way (a little slouchy). If you want the tight skinny jeans look, go for the smaller size (one size up)....
I haven't tried the Long Johns, but they have a much skinnier leg and are tapered, whereas the SSKs are pretty much straight from the knee down. They are quite different styles. |

| | Biz, so you got a 27?
I'm a 25/26, and thinking I need either a 27 or 28, I definitely like how yours look vs. the supertight look.

| | Yep, I got a 27... I wear 24/25... the truth is that none of the 25s I have are actually the right size for me (all too big). I'm not sure in general if 24 or 25 is more the correct size
I would imagine that the sizing is similar to the Denimbirds you had... still have them? |

| | To the amazing dry denim owners:
So for denimbirds, go up several sizes? I've tried getting actual measurements on dbs, but they're all over the place. Once shop will say a 28 has a 32inch waist, another will say a 28 has a 30 inch waist.
Revolve is actually have a sale on some dbs...but they only have a size 27 and 32 in the ones I want.
Off topic, Bizzy, I love your Nudie SSK

The sizing on the DB dry stretch bootcut was definitely small- I got a 26 that had a 26" waist, they also don't stretch much-- I traded them because I gained some weight, and am kicking myself now because now I've lost the weight and they would fit perfect.
Wonder if I can find an SSK somewhere for a good price....
