Nudie Jeans Check please

hi there,

I got some nudie jeans online, could you check if they are real? Thank you very much

p.s. the guy said that the pair were factory seconds due to stitching

Slight irregularity here...

The stitching on the inside of the pockets on Nudies tends to be square-sewn...or at a right angle. These are curved (seen in the first photo).

Could we get a close-up of the pocket with the writing on it, with the jeans inside-out?

That patch looks a little suspect to me, the nudie swong also looks a little bit...off. It doesn't "bloom" like it should. I'm not 100%, but I'm leaning towards fake on these (albeit a very convincing fake!) Where did you buy them from?

Are these the Average Joe Dry Heavy? Here's a picture of mine when I first got them, for comparison:

This is about the best I can do otherwise, you could check your tag against this one that came with my pair: *sold the pair, unfortunately . Just couldn't fit into 'em anymore*

Not that this will be a final determining factor...but it might help.

I've compared them as closely as I can to my two pairs of Nudies and they look right to me. Backpocket stitching, patch, inside pocket printing and stitching loos good (from what I can see in your pictures). I have however found two discrepencies but I don't know if those have changed from year to year or model to model as mine are both regular ralfs (one dry selvedge one greycast) from 3 years ago. First my size tag on the inside is not on the same pocket as the printed "instructions" (from my greycasts which have the same sizing tag, the selvedge pair has the old size tag which IS on the sameside as the pocket print) and also the tag on the top of the back right pocket only reads "Nudie" on both of mine where as yours reads "Nudie Jeans"...

he did say these are "seconds" due to the stitching (the right side of the patch was the only stitching irregularity from what I could tell) so it's really hard to make assumptions but the quality of the denim should really make it or break it. Do they feel pretty solid? I think the quality of the denim is really the only way to know 100%

Here's a further explanation of the pocket thing:

I've seen a bunch of fakes with the curved pocket stitching, from places like Ioffer.com, that whole drill.

AFAIK, all nudies come with a "square" shaped pocket stitching. While the irregularities in other places could be due to the pair being seconds, this is one that I've never seen on a real pair before.

Here's an outline of the inner pocket stitching:

And how it *should* be:

I'll try to find a picture of a real pair as well.

That picture brings up another point,

The rivets, if I remember correctly, tend to have "nudie" engraved on the back. The rivets on this pair are plain.

i just noticed why the size tag is in front of the naked truth and the real one is not.

I see what you mean with the stitching inside the pockets now... Mine also have the squared off stitching, and yes, they also have "nudie jeans" printed on the insde of the rivets

That settles it for me, my vote goes for "Counterfeit".

These are a great example for the "how to authenticate nudies thread I started a while back...and never finished . Over the next few weeks I'll see if I can't put together a more comprehensive guide.
